i am all for that .... may we start with bruce bowen?
Sure. I don't think Bowen broke any ribs or collapsed any Jazz players' lung so he's fine. Bynum, we'll see but the NBA should keep injury inducing fouls in check.

And if any Spurs player pulled a flagrant like Bynum did, I'd think they'd get ejected/suspended nearly right away, especially Bowen

, Lakers fans and Andrew Bynum should know what being injured is like and whether the intention was there or not its a shoddy deal for Wallace.

true not everyone else see the game from some self paranoid hipocritic view of spurs fans... calling one thing dirty is fine, suspending a player is fine... but blaming the whole team and the player himself dirty or in spurs language " es" is just asinine..... take a good long hard look at your spurs team and tell yourself... have these guys played with dignity, repect, and respect for their opponets.....

    ya i thought so...

    also

why else suspend a player? i really see no point in this unless he broke an NBA rule or went completely awol like stephon marbury. i guess suspending them for bad behavior during playoffs is fine but these "flangrants" have been hashed and rehashed in the 70's - 80's so much that it was just a 2 shot foul.... the league has been pussified, people pay to see these players play not some scrub filling in for a suspended player
    I'm not a Spurs fan.

I never called Bynum dirty. I've stated several times that I believe that he was more clumsy than malicious on that play.

Have you read and understood the two previous sentences? And frankly, why does it matter? We're talking about Bynum's foul, who we are and what we think about other issues doesn't matter.

Were you watching basketball in the 70s and in the 80s or are you just repeating what was written somewhere else? Throwing your elbow, hand, forearm, or whatever part of your body at someone in midair without attempting to play the ball was never a mere shooting foul, in any decade or any league. I agree the shooter, and the offensive player in general, is over-protected in the NBA these days, but let's not confuse things.

Why are players punished? Is that a serious question? Have you ever thought what would happen if players could start making this kind of fouls without being afraid of punishment? It would take 3 days before every shot taken was a 10 ft jumper. Suspensions are there as a disincentive to a certain behavior, it's that simple.

Just out of curiosity, what would be your position if it was Kobe instead of Gerald Wallace?

fine taunting a player when they are coming up the court or showboating when they have a 40 point lead can injure plenty of egos

I never called Bynum dirty. I've stated several times that I believe that he was more clumsy than malicious on that play.
dont downplay the foul.. he knew what he was doing. he fouled a player so he wont get the easy bucket just like so many players int the league does it just so happens someone got hurt and now you are asking for his head

Have you read and understood the two previous sentences? And frankly, why does it matter? We're talking about Bynum's foul, who we are and what we think about other issues doesn't matter.
ya talk about bynum foul all you want that hasnt been repeated in the previous 5 pages. other issues does matter when you want reprucussions of one rival while you let the other player go scott free.... just like morrison hard foul on pau gasol.... care to suspend him too

Were you watching basketball in the 70s and in the 80s
70's-- no 80's yes however i watched numerous amounts of film on 70's ball

or are you just repeating what was written somewhere else? Throwing your elbow, hand, forearm, or whatever part of your body at someone in midair without attempting to play the ball was never a mere shooting foul, in any decade or any league.
you gotta be ing kidding me
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7r6vXeOfyQ

you as a boston fan should know that mchale played the rest of the game and rambis scored his 2 shots FT

I agree the shooter, and the offensive player in general, is over-protected in the NBA these days, but let's not confuse things.
something i have already said and you agree thank you

no there was a time in the league where they werent suspended on such hard fouls like the one last night... it ruins the game.. ruins the fact a really good player has to sit because of a mistake he prolly regrets or never meant to make in the first place...the league needs to ease up on that... and I believe the only way to punish a player is in his pocketbook i.e. steph marburry

Just out of curiosity, what would be your position if it was Kobe instead of Gerald Wallace?

A tough hard foul by Bynum. It's a shame Wallace got hurt, but that's what happens when you just try to fly into a crowded basketball lane. Bynum just tried to stop an easy bucket and accidentally caught him in a dangerous spot. The flagrant was warranted and a game suspension is warranted because of the injury. Nothing malicious here at all. This will make players think twice before they try to just crash towards the hoop against the Lakers. And any fan of a team that has Bowen on it should just STFU. You guys all look like crybaby hypocrites scared of the Lakeshow and their new big man. Suck it spurs fans.
