True, once in a while he still pulls of some kind of crazy dunk/reverse layup. The thing that really helps him is not only the jumping ability, but he has huge hands, and he can really palm the ball everyway possible.
Nothing better than nerds calling these dunks trash, okay you try throwing it off the backboard and dunking it while your head is STILL behind it (which he did), and then his other where he caught the ball in midair and windmilled it (which is extremely hard to do)
Vince is still the best dunker ever but Dwight is good. He's bringing entertainment (and good dunks) to the dunk contest but all of you just and moan... I guess Birdman > Dwight since he "actually dunked it"!!11one
dwight's dunk was badass and the epitome of showmanship. anyone who calls it overrated is just a hater.
That's exactly it. It wasn't just a dunk. It was theater. He created a level of excitement by playing up to the crowd, creating a 'moment' that we'll all remember. Others should learn from Howards performance last year. It's center stage, and we want a show. Do something original instead of simply mimicking dunks we've all seen before.

Birdman's actual dunk was better than Dwight's backboard dunk. He came from about a foot inside the ft line off a bounce. Tim Duncan could probably do that backboard dunk.

Howard's overrated as a player(although he's a top 6 player in the NBA), and his dunk contest show was definitely overrated..I just don't care for him, he's way too corny for my liking..I also don't like his fake Christian act..
Vince is the king of the dunk, we'll never see anybody like him again..he's still a great dunker btw, as any Nets fan can tell you..he no longer does it often though..he pulled out a great reverse alley-oop a few weeks ago though..

Even if you didn't like that dunk, you gotta admit Howard got screwed on the sticker dunk in the 07 contest.
With his athleticism, if he actually placed the sticker on the top of the opposite side of the backboard, he might get the marks.
To everyone saying the dunk contest died after MJ. Have you seen these mother ers? VC, Iggy, Josh Smith, Gerald Green, J Rich.....they are sick and a lot of their dunks were better than MJ's. (With all due respect)
