Last I checked we have Bowen, AKA Kobe stopper, and Pop wants you to think he's lost a step ... because he clearly has not, not even one little bit.

I think everyone here knows my view on the Lakers, but this is ridiculous. Kobe had a in MJ quality series against him last year.

Our Mavs would've won it ALL in 2003 if our beloved Dirk didn't get slain in battle.

Just kidding, but ya never know
To this day i wonder where the Mavs would be if Cuban got his way and Dirk played injured

Jason Richardson is clearly the favorite to win the West right now.

Don't expect that again. Kobe's no MJ.

I'm aware of that, I was only saying Bowen doesn't have the ability to frustrate Kobe like he would be able to do a few years ago. This is why I've repeatedly said SA would be smart to get Salmons who has defended Kobe superbly this year.

Bowen not only can still defend Kobe as well, he sometimes outscores him now too.

for real though, I'm serious. I honestly don't think Bowen has lost a step. I don't even know how you're judging his defense against Kobe when he's played a handful of minutes against him. Not only that, those handful of minutes were very good, including forcing 3 TO's in the first game between LA/SA - in something like 10 minutes of play.

Bowen can't defend Kobe like he used to 3-4 years ago. He can still defend him well, but he isn't stopping Kobe by any means all by his lonesome.

Kobe averaged near 30ppg and 50% shooting last year in the playoffs. If that is what you consider good defense you are ing re ed.

Let's say the Spurs do make it to the Finals.

Does anyone think they can realistically beat BOS or CLE in a 7 game series without HCA?

Give me a break. They will get slaughtered by both teams. The only team in the WC that stands a chance against the EC is the Lakers w/ Bynum.
Please, the only thing that the Lakers have proven is that they can choke away NBA Finals... We're 4-0 there...

Nothing like beating up on a tired team three rounds in when you've had the easiest path of the entire playoffs That well-rested Lakerclub could barely beat the Spurs, who held 3 double digit leads in 3 of the 4 losses. The Lakers were lucky and squeaked by.

When the Lakers played someone in the PO who could match their intensity, they failed. Miserably. By 40 points. Almost the worst loss in Finals history. So often it happens when there is a collection of so many chokers and pussies on one team.

Pop learned the lesson. That's why Bowen is resting now. Guess why?
But nevermind. We'll play the games and see who comes up on top when all is said and done. And I love the Spurs chances against any team in the league when May comes around...

They didn't choke away the Finals. The Celts curbstomped, raped em(for irony's sake), then burned them alive, and pissed on their ashes.

39 point beat down in an elimination game.

    NBA record

    2001 WCF: LAL vs SAS

    Game 1: 104-90 LAL wins by 14
    Game 2: 88-81 LAL wins by 7
    Game 3: 111-72 LAL wins by 39
    Game 4: 111-82 LAL wins by 29

In 2001 the Lakers swept Duncan and the Spurs by an average margin of 22.3 points per game in the WCF, including a 39 point advantage beatdown. That was the greatest margin of defeat for a conference series in NBA history

Dumb mother er tries to talk about the Lakers only to realize the Lakers have thoroughly owned his franchise throughout its existence.

    blown up dynasty
    pho curbstomps
    39 points

I will admit though the Lakers do tend to catch the Spurs when their two guards are coming off injury.

Are you talking about the same team that barely outplayed a tired Spurs team on its way to a 40 point meltdown?
