In 2000, 2001, and 2002, Shaq averaged more points than Kobe all 3 seasons, won an MVP, and won 3 finals MVPs. It's no secret who the "closer" was on those teams.

That doesn't answer my question. If Kobe was the best player on those 3 teams, why did he not win finals MVP or MVP once? Why did Shaq average more points in all 3 of those seasons?
