Cavs Vs Lakers Game Thread

Anyone who thinks the Spurs are better than the Cavs is going by names rather than what the teams are actually accomplishing.

We all know Lebron is better than Duncan, but people think Duncan/Ginobili/Parker is a better core than Lebron/Mo/Z, and that Greg Popovich is a better coach than Mike Brown. These are fair points.

But, I go by what I see. What I see is the cavs are superior offensively to the Spurs, superior defensively, and have a better record and higher margin of victory.

I respect the Spurs' core cause they've gotten it done before. The Lakers second unit put the game away early in the fourth when the Cavs' core was on the floor

the reason why late in games the Cavs have 2 clutch players Lebron (if he is hot or can get to the hoop) and Mo williams ...

Spurs have: Duncan, Manu, Mason and Parker who have hit game winning or game clinching shots ...

Celts have: Allen, Pierce and KG who have done the same ...

Lakers have: KOBE, Fish Gasol who have hit big shots to win games this year

Lebron is not proven like Duncan, Kobe Wade or Pierce in Finals play ...he may win the MVP and that is great but if you notice the last MVP to win a le was Shaq and duncan Nashx2, Dirk, AI even Kobe di not win a le go back past that Malone was a failure in that regard as well...

Yes...they statisically have a better defense. The Cavs have always had a good defense.

Again...they don't have a better offense. Especially with the Big 3 and emergence of Mason, Bonner, and Hill. But, you seem to forget that factor.

Yes...Lebron has more popularity but who cares? Duncan has 4 rings (and defeated Lebron two years ago for one of them) and Lebron has 0 rings.

Yes...they have a better margin of victory. Again...it won't matter when they face the Celtics or the Magic in the playoffs.

But some posters should be somewhat objective.

For example, I don't like the Lakers but I have to acknowledge they are one of the best teams this year and are a favorite to win it all.

However, to just dismiss a team with one of the best Big 3's in the league and that core has won 75% of their games (3 out of 4 games) since 2003 and three 3 les (and are still playing good basketball)is just ridiculous.

The Spurs have the 2nd best record in the west after starting 2-5 and have one of the best road records in the league.

As of RIGHT NOW, it's hard to dispute that Lakers/Spurs are the 2 best right now, with Boston close behind. Boston is struggling defensively right now, but they're a veteran ball club and they'll pull through it.
I just find it hard to believe that Cleveland is a top 2 team when the Lakers 2nd unit put the Cavs away tonight (while Cleveland's starters were on the floor).

Looking back at the what the Magic has done this season, you can make a case for them being the best team in the league before Nelson went down. They actually swept the Lakers and the Spurs and pounded Cleveland before his injury.
