Live 03 was probably the most fun I've ever had playing a basketball game. Wang Zhizhi was beast.
Anyways.
2kX better be the . I hope the fix the size being a stat, too. Yao Ming could have a rating of 60, but still be the best Center.
nba live 09 >>>> nba 2k9 clearly we should buy EA's products instead of the trashes from asia.
I hate the post game, 2k8 was so much better.
And the 3's never miss thing is by far the most annoying. If Peja is hot, it doesn't matter how much you contest his shot because it's going in.
In 2k9, I buted my ass off to come back vs the Lakers, and Gasol, yes Gasol, hits a contested 3 to win the game
2k8 is not better though, Shaq, yes Shaq, hit a fadeaway 3 to send the game to OT.
I was depressed![]()
You guys have no idea how pissed I was when Jason Kidd hit a three at the buzzer to beat me on 2k9. At least make it realistic![]()
one word: SLIDERS
sons 2K9 is fun, but it is too easy to dominate. I just finished a season 77-5 and swept my way through the playoffs on the hall of fame level (with no game sliders on). that is my only beef with that game. oh well sons, I guess I am just pretty much the best in the world. god bless
Let me introduce you to a nice little friend we call SLIDERS. USE them.
agreed. something about 2k9 isnt right like it was in 2k8...having said that 2k9is still >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> nba live
2k7 was too easy. Parker and Ginobili were like Jordan going to the basket on that game.
If 2k9 wasn't such a piece of I'd like it better than 2k8. Why do you take other people's opinions as some crime against humanity?
A well made game won't force you to change every option available because the developers were too lazy to get it right in the first place.
NBA Live EA sucks. I've taken a 20 year hiatus from the franchise. Hopefully they will have gotten it right by the time I return, but I doubt it.
This. It may not sound bad on the first glance, as it keeps the game close, but it's bull . Once you get a 10 point lead the game becomes unplayable, no matter what you do your players will miss, even if it's a wide open layup.
NBA Live 2003 was my favourite game of all time. They havent made a good one since.
Stick with 2k
yeh that nbalive 94-95 was the best...i remember you can break rings in both of those games....
Not My Copy
So what do u guys set your sliders on for a good balance?
I set the lay up success etc... to 45 instead of 50.
Find that a bit more realistic.
2k9 is the best in the series easily in terms of playability .. the post offense/defense isnt great still but is MUCH better than previous installments for example. Additionally, Blocking shots is 100x improved from 2k8 - you used to not be able to block a shot from behind or the side, 99.9% of the time. Only if it was a straight up contest could you get a block, which is ridiculous. Now held D works muchbetter.
Another thing is the lock on defense which is much more balanced and "smart." Like said, the 2k8 version was really hard to beat. Let's not forget Friendly AI improvement as well. The main problems I have with this game is still the sort of "water skiing" type of movement the players have, which makes it difficult to get the best shot sometimes, and the fact layups/dunks/scoring in general seems easier than ever. One thing about 2k8 was you could win with a solid defense even if your offense wasn't clicking on all cylinders. in 2k9, a good offense is more important than a great defense. I honestly think the main contributor is the "Hot Zones" function (basically, players in the game shoot better from places they shoot the best from in real life), a lot of times coupled with a player's whose gotten a couple easy looks.
Example: Manu Ginobili gets the benefit of good ball movement and nails a three from the corner (one of his hot zones), then next possession gets an unconstested fast break layup. From this point on, Manu will be nailing shots from everywhere and will be finishing strong at the rim. It seems like the hotter a player gets, especially from his hot zones, the more unstoppable they are. While the system makes sense, what doesn't make sense is when every shot or layup by Ginobili is now contested like a mother er and he's still putting it in the hoop over and over - after only getting hot off of 2 makes and maybe a defensive play! While sliders can be adjusted, IMO only players rated 95 and ^ should be able to just score at will on the offense. Even players like Manu are effected by good defense, no matter how hot they are.

So let me get this straight:
Me asking someone how (or how the heck, so much more confrontational) someone can find one game being better than another = me taking someone's opinion as if they deserved to be punished for that opinion..
Gotcha. You make tons of sense.
