    I can't ing bealive this!

If he's seriously injured the Spurs should trade him for Camby, Sheed, Kaman, Brand, Miller or any above average big and go for Carter and/or Salmons.

But it would never be the same.
You want to trade for elton brand? really? REALLY? you realize he's out for the season right? BTW we could get Brad Miller without giving up Manu, expiring contracts gets you Brad Miller.

Why would anyone trade for an injured player? why do people keep thinking this might happen?
'Cause the Spurs could win a championship now. For teams that have a good roster but aren't elite team yet and are missing just one or two quality pieces to become one next year Manu would be a great adittion.

Well if Manu is really hurt, than you can probably put an end to any trades involving Mason, which rules out a lot of trading partners.

well what worries me is that it said he was going to get treatment on it during AS Break. If the treatment hasn't worked at all there's got to be something going on .

At least it's not the foot that got operated on in the off-season. Not much of a consolation because he still can't play. Ihope the Spurs rest him aslong as necessary and even longer if possible. Mason, Hill, Hairston and co. could benefit from the PT..

No, I didn't know Brand was out for the season. I knew he was injured but not so bad. Expiring contracts can get you Miller but not if you use them in Carter. Anyway I would first try to land Rasheed, Camby, Kaman or maybe David Lee.

But let me clarify again, ONLY if Manu is seriously injured= Out for the season or just back for the playoffs 'cause he wouldn't be 100% for them.

I wonder if he has the same problem in that ankle that he had in his left ankle? If so, the Spurs can say goodbye to any playoff aspirations.
Honestly without Manu, Spurs definitely is still on playoff, but I just dont know if Spurs can get to the Final without Manu. Its not like Blazers which even with full lineup still questionable on playoffs,it they can make it or not...

From Joe Alexander's game blog. "Reportedly"?

Manu Ginobili did not play and was not with the team, reportedly due to a sore ankle.

Well, I didnt read the whole thread but it seems its already been discussed that this could be an indication of a trade. Up front, let me just say I doubt it, but the timing of this is highly questionable.

Reports say the injury was before the all-star break, chances are they just figured it was a non-issue and it would be healed up after a week but ended up being wrong,. That begs the question though of if they knew about it why not take every precaution and have it checked out at the begining of the break? It's puzzling to me that they would wait until now to check it out.

On top of that, I heard on ESPN radio that the Spurs where questioned at the airport on why Manu wasnt boarding the plane and the response at the time was "he will be flying out on a later flight to meet us in NY." No mention of injury. Again, maybe they thought it was nothing but after the check-up the doctor advised against playing and he stayed back.

    Still, it just sounds wierd.

I dont want to trade Manu, not even for Kobe, but thats my heart speaking and not my head (either of them). Truth is Manu is eventually going to break down, the cold business fact is you get what you can while the value is high.

Still. I hope its a non-issue and was just a bad communication and bad timing by the Spurs to the media. happens.

Anyway, rest up that ankle Manu.

It would really take a fantastic offer from another team for Pop to trade Manu.

They kind of talked about it on ESPN radio with Jay Howard. Im in the boat with Jay that this is probably a non-issue as far as a trade but what they talked about WAS intruiging. Manu plus a few others for Rasheed and Prince. THAT I could deal with.
