It would be interesting, though, what the Spurs could get if they traded Tim. I mean, I know that even if they got equal value in return, the Spurs could still land LBJ and D Wade and never replace Timmy's value in the locker room and to fans. But, it would be interesting the offers they might receive.

What do you say the Spurs just try it out in, say, the summer of 2010. I mean privately they'd never trade the guy, but they tell other teams that he's on the block. The Spurs would have everyone so busy trying to come up with a trade package for Tim, the Spurs would have first shot at the free agents that are really on the market.

On that note, I wonder if anyone has ever contacted Buford or Pop in regard to (what they think is) a legitimate trade proposal.

Sounds good in theory but Tim is Damaged goods now,.

You people want to use your 15 minutes of fame in my world class topic tossing 1990s lame insults go right ahead. But I know for a fact that the sports card industry have all kinds of connections with agents scouts team doctors etc... they have to know who is hurt, who is on drugs, who is going to be a star. They have to project who the next MJ or Larry bird will be.

If you really want to know who is going to make it in sports buy a Becket you will see how they break it down to a science. And that is why Tim Duncan cards have not gone up in price since 2000 they know you all can only dream about knowing. Like his knee ready to blow.

Instead of humiliating me and yourselves you should be great full with the rare time I spent sharing this info on this cheesy website. In fact you all should have your lips glued to your monitors right now as you pray to GOD for the once in a lifetime opportunity to toss my cyber salad and give me the props I so well deserve.
Mouse, I love you man, and I think your stuff is among the most entertaining on the Web, much less on this board ---

when you stick to absurd role-playing and creative fantasy.

But here, you are trying to actually say something you believe.

Big mistake. Because what you say really doesn't make sense. You don't have that kind of mind that can do real things and draw real conclusions. Give it up.

Please, go back to being the Mouse I know and love.

I never was a huge Dirk fan I am a huge Tim Duncan fan. I just don't try and act like a fan by kissing his ass, I tell it like I see it and Tim knows that.

Tim knows he will be lucky to finish this season. Those are the facts and sorry if I made anyone cry by reporting them, face it the NBA can be a ruthless business at times. It's not all river parades and Memorial day miracles.

So let me get this straight. Because of tendonosis and because he's day to day, he'll be lucky to finish out the season? I'd say Timmy has had one of his best career seasons this year...and still draws double teams, and still makes people pay when they don't, and even when they do. Tim Duncan will average a double double until the day he retires, which will be on his own terms. Sore knees? Come on...Bill Russell and Jordan had sore knees for half their careers. I'd say Timmy is ahead of the game, considering he's a big who's been in the league for 11 years now.

not to hijack this thread...but trying anyway.
I was in target buying pokemon cards with my kid (not for me honest!!!) and picked up a deck of upper deck cards; the first time since derrick coleman was in the league. So here it is, upper deck showing the spurs some love, and all in one pack.

Spurs, almost spurs, and wannabe spurs....

arguing with Mavs fans is pointless..just think about ONE thing..the Mavs franchise is known for 2 events, JUST TWO..choking the 2006 finals after being up 2-0, and choking a 67 win season away by losing in the FIRST round to the 8th seed(LOL)..just think about how bad it feels to be a Mavs fan, and then let them be..

Basketball cards in the 90's are not worth much as much as you would think because there was so much interest in the Michael Jordan rookie card most of the cards in the 90's were over produced. Here are some current Tim Duncan rookie cards values from Beckett (mint condition price):

    Topps $2
    Bowmans Best $5
    Finest $12
    Fleer $2
    Skybox $4
    SPx $15
    Topps Chrome $30

I might add the the George Hill rookie card has done fairly well on eBay.

arguing with Spur fan is pointless..

they only know three words: championship and team basketball (even though they might not know what it means)

most of them hopped on after their first championship and since they are run by such a great organization for the last decade they cannot come to grips with the fact that there is such a thing as a career ending, end of a dynasty, and God forbid...LOSING SEASONS! most of them dont even know how a franchise is even run. too stubborn to face it they just blind themselves and accept the fact that Duncan will play forever.

Sad how much cards have gone down the tubes since the internet and ebay arrived on the scene. My 88 hoops David Robinson *signed* and 1989 UD Sean E. signed might actually be worth money

LMAO...are we comparing here? I'd say that being one of the top 4 teams in the NBA is winning. Yeah...definitely winning. Now your Mavs..on the other hand...lol...hilarious. Dropping Devin Harris for J Kidd...how stupid can you get. Just because your team's GM rides the short bus to work doesn't mean you should hate on a team that knows how to win.

As a huge sports card collector in the 90s I often wondered why my Tim Duncan card never went up in value. Could it be the folks at Beckett knew something I didn't? The same with the Grant Hills.

I told you all many times Tim was just one good hit to the knee away from early retirement and you all told me to go to . I was not wishing bad Karma I was just keeping it real. It's time the spurs make a huge trade before you end up with another Chris Webber/Grant Hill type player next season.

Well now I know why the Tim Duncan rookie card has never gone up in Value

I suppose you've also figured out why you always rode the short bus home from school too......

As soon as you find a way to keep yourself from starting these asinine threads, get back at me.
