Why does the NBA televise Lakers vs. (insert choice team) games?

Same f*cking script. Every single time.

(ICT) come roaring out the gate to an early lead. They look poised to win the game. 4th quarter comes, Zebras decide to listen to Stern. (ICT) can't get a stop. Lakers win. Stern wets his pants.

I've seen this happen at least 5 times now and really am wondering why the NBA feels we need to keep seeing this same f*cking story repeat itself.

Why does the NBA and network execs continously force the Fakers down the throats of a national TV audience? Whether it be a national holiday (Xmas or Thanksgiving) or whether the Fakers are rendered irrelevant (first two seasons after the Shaq departure), the TV watching public is constantly fed a steady diet of Kobe/Shaq or Kobe/Bron or Kobe vs anybody? It's way past old.

Was Kobe convicted? Did I miss something?
Yes..actually you did miss something. The guy cheated on his wife, which a lot of people forget. And adultery is against the law in Colorado.
Colorado 18-6-501 - Adultery. "Any sexual intercourse by a married person other than with that person's spouse is adultery, which is prohibited."
He should have served time..but he didn't..because he's Kobe Freaking Bryant.

Same ing script. Every single time.

Suns come roaring out the gate to an early lead. They look poised to win the game. 4th quarter comes, Spurs decide to play defense. Suns can't get a stop. Suns lose.

The Suns are one of the small number of teams that supposedly can draw good TV ratings.

They have Shaq and have one of the better records the past few seasons. They also play up tempo and have stars Nash and Stoudemire, and an old star Hill.

They make the Spurs look good.

About a million people would be in jail in CO is they actually enforced this. I don't think his fame had anything to do with that. Alright that's the last time I ever defend Kobe

I don't know...adultery wasn't even brought up. That's what I don't understand. Everybody stood beside him "Free Kobe" is all I heard. Even if he didn't rape the young lady..the guy still CHEATED ON HIS WIFE!! Seriously..this guy is a role model? If I had a kid, and he wanted a Kobe jersey, there's no way in I'd let him get one, or buy one for him. Kobe is a s of the earth piece of in my opinion. Great player...trash as a person.

    1. the OP was complaing about it because the result is always the same, dont think he was hating on the spurs

    2. Lakers games get televised because they are a huge market franchise and also, they are a great entertaining team with the best player in the world

    3. WHO CARES is kobe ed that girl, its not like he RAPED her, its obviously a classic case of the crying rape after she willingly had sex with a celebrity in order to derive money/15 minutes/book deal etc. out of it.
if i were Kobe (or any celeb) id be ing women left and right.

You're a perfect example of a bag. Seriously, dude. HE'S FREAKING MARRIED!! HE CHEATED ON HIS WIFE!! He has kids idolizing him. When you get paid like he does, part of that is to not make your organization look bad. And when you're Kobe ing Bryant, and kids look up to you, your organization expects you to embrace that, and be a man. What he did was disgraceful and illegal. Yes..adultery is against the law in Colorado. Dude should have been booked in jail..period. And if you think it's ok what he did, I feel sorry for your wife..and if you're not married (which I assume you're a teenager who doesn't care about the authenticity of marriage, or give a crap about vows) I feel sorry for the woman who eventually becomes your wife, if you're lucky to find one who'll put up with this kind of garbage.

it never should have become public knowledge. its not his fault the fat tart made a big scene out of it, she should have just been thankful for the experience and kept her piehole shut except maybe to brag to friends.

Wow..you are unbelievably disgraceful. You know, because you're on a forum and no one sees you doesn't mean you have to act all hard. Basketball player or not, the dude is married. PERIOD! It IS his fault..it's ALL his fault..she was single, getting laid. He was married, cheating on his wife. Please tell me you're kidding, and you're not this stupid.

Well said, it is aggrivating that the Lakers are always on National Television but whatever, Kobe didn't rape that girl. And any dude that thinks he wouldn't be banging girls left and right is full of .

I'm not a Kobe fan infact I have pure hatred for him and the ass Lakers but maybe he just made a mistake. Everybody does. I mean yes he's a role model and should have thought about that before it came to this but you are acting like you are some saint. Everyone makes mistakes. But Kobe he's famous so he can't make mistakes. Kids look up to him so he should do everything right. Not everyone can be David Robinson.

I understand that..but when you say vows...you live up to them. If the dude wanted to have sex with other woman, he shouldn't have gotten married in the first place.

Well maybe you are right but I don't think Kobe was thinking that way when he got married. Maybe he thought he loved her and was never gonna cheat on her. But some super hot chick in Colorado wanted the D and he made a mistake. Anyway why the did this thread turn into a moral argument over adultery. Didn't it start with the Spurs vs. Suns.

LOL..yeah...someone started blasting the Lake Show, and it turned into Kobe, I think. But about the mistake. I mean...accidentally speeding in a school zone is a mistake. When you knowingly cheat on your wife, which is a commandment, and a law in Colorado, it's wrong..very wrong. I still think he should have been locked up. The sad thing is, while he was going to court, and playing at the same time, flying back and forth, when he was playing so well, ESPN went on and on about how it was so inspiring how he could go from court in Colorado in the day and play well at night. How in sam can ANYTHING be inspiring about being in court for rape, committing adultery, or anything of that nature? That made me sick.

and if you're not married (which I assume you're a teenager who doesn't care about the authenticity of marriage, or give a crap about vows)
What authenticity or sanc y of vows? Marriage was created to protect bloodlines, make sure that your sons (aka heirs) were in fact yours, and to create alliances between families.

    What's so sacred about that?

I'm not defending Kobe by any means, but when I hear people spew the "sanc y of marriage" it annoys me to no end.

Especially in a country where marriage is glamorized in movies and in society as some sort of preferred life, yet half of them end in divorce, and a fair number that don't are probably kept together for all the wrong reasons.

Fair enough, yah the NBA were a bunch of assholes about it because what he did was wrong. Really wrong. I dunno it. It's Kobe and I don't really give a about him. The Spurs are gonna put it on them in the playoffs.

Unbelievable crap spewing out of your pie hole. Just because you don't believe in the sanc y of marriage doesn't mean no one does. I'm married, and will remain. My parents have remained married, as have my grandparents. Where I'm from, the sanc y of marriage and vows mean something. Maybe it doesn't in your house, but it does in mine. It does in the eyes of my God, and the law. Not gonna tell you what or what not to believe, but don't try to pull this "people who talk about the sanc y of marriage annoy me" bull . To some people, it actually still means something to say "I Do."
