Think pop had a brain fart in this one...but normally think tim would have more of an impact in a big game like this. Gasol and odom should never be able to shut him down

Manu is easily good for at least 20 pts. Good game for my Lakers but somehow it's not the same w/o Manu. That would be a better gauge for us. We'll take the win though. See you guys hopefully in the WCF's. BTW, Try to stay healthy will ya?

Why should we care about an east team beating a west team that won't even make the playoffs?

Another typical Laker game. We fought hard in stretches, but bottomline they intimidate us from the headcoach all the way down to the ballboy, and are a better team at this point. Pop coached a clusmy, reactive game as usual, while PJ sat smirking.

To beat in the playoffs, we would need to play flawless basketball. Don't see that happening, do you? I guess there's no shame in getting beat by a superior team, too bad it always has to be the Lakers however. It's our fate, I guess, to be Laker cannon fodder.
Don't be a . Spurs can win if healthy. Maybe you're intimidated, but Spurs aren't.

A much more realistic one than you obviously.

The Spurs gave us a lemon tonight.
You're making it into lemonade. Good for you.

That's the end of the Spurs' season, giving away HCA to the Lakers.

All the pressure on the Spurs to get a split in LA to steal back HCA, but the Lakers won't be giving it away like the Spurs did tonight.

Spurs came out relaxed and lackadaisical and got their butts reamed by team that came ready to play.

This game was not a big deal tonight. They just came out early with a jumpshooting rhythm, won the game in the 1st quarter...Again, no big deal. These guys don't have anything we want...no championship since 2002, I am still failing to see the big deal about a team that has failed in its last two Finals...

Considering we went down by as many as 18 points, our D wasnt so great, and our Offense looked like ass in the 1st half as well, I'm just happy that our boys fought back tonight and made a game out of it. If TP and TD would've played like that in the 1st half we have more than just a chance to win this game. That being said, with Gooden making his debut and Manu coming back soon, I feel good about this team. They can get it done god damn it. This team had two 20-pt leads on the Lakers in last yr's series, and that Spurs team has nothing on this one. Thomas and Gooden should play more than Bonner though, he just can't bang inside and rebound, and it's a big problem. Alot of their points in the 1st half were off of offensive boards. I BELIEVE in this team, they can and will get it done.

    Good game.

Spurs are a tough team to beat at home. The Lakers managed to lead the entire game, very impressive.
    DrHouse,

It was a good game and I hope there is Spurs-Lakers in the WCF.

I have to give credit to the Lakers and they shot lights out in the 1st quarter and I believe some games are won in the first quarter. Tonight's game was the case.

I like how the Spurs fought back and had a chance to win.

Gooden looked solid... we fought back with a chance to win, and still no Manu. Losing always sucks but those who are melting down over this one need a reality check.

We're about 7 games back from LA.

Even with the win, we would be about 6 games back.

The chance of us overtaking the Lakers was almost zero.

They were going to have HCA anyways.

Your right they lacked effort in the 1st qrt. But they came back, They won't win every game. And don't you think a healthy Manu would make a big difference?

And whichever Laker fan said the Lakers would've blown out the Spurs had Phil not played the bench so much, you. Kobe played 38 mins and Pau played 41, what more do you want?

Yup...they were just shooting some shots...just another fake regular-season win for the Lakers...no big deal. Won't mean a thing come playoff time.

Sometimes games are won in the first quarter and tonight's game was the case.

However, they were some positive things to take from this game. The Spurs fought back for the rest of the game and got it two points.

Thomas and Gooden will help Duncan in the post. Tony Parker shows he can shrug off a bad first half and play well when it counted and they know they must shot better from the free throw line.

Manu's energy was needed tonight and that would have been huge.
Tony Parker showed that he has matured in tonight's game. This was a game where he had a bad first half and turned it all around in the same game when it mattered most. Tony did what he has been doing a lot lately. That is some real mental toughness from TP. Games like this from TP show that his mental toughness is getting up there with Manu. Great to have another player with a steel will. Props to TP for laying it out there.
