Whether or not someone says LA can't get a ring w/o Bynum, the fact is they can. They made the finals w/o him last year, and have won a game in Boston, Cleveland, and San Antonio without him. I just said they can in my previous post so idk why you responded to my post as if I said they couldn't win it all w/o him.
cuz my original point was to Tlong...and you came and said your piece.

That's what my gut is telling me. If he does come back, I'll own up and bump this thread.

And no this is not an anti-jinx.
    Bad news for Spurs

Gasol at C and Lamar at PF = matchup problems for us

Bynum in the lineup doesn't solve your match up problem. Only makes it worse considering Bynum guards Duncan as good as anybody in the league.

Even without Bynum, the Lakers have already beaten the Cavs in Cleveland, the Spurs in San Antonio and the Celtics in Boston.

Not having Bynum just means the Playoffs/Finals will be more entertaining, but the engravers have already finished engraving the LOB.
The Spurs squad the Lakers beat in San Antonio was without Ginobili, so if you still want to count it, go right ahead.

We know how much difference a healthy Ginobili makes. If you're still unclear, he'll be glad to show you in the WCF.

if he plays before the playoffs it will be very small minutes. but lakers would be aiming at saving him come finals.

Why do ppl start these dumbass threads? This is NOT the same type of injury as least season. He didnt need surgery so you already know he's gonna be back at some point. He's already practicing & running on the court. Last year they kept waiting to see if it would heal on its own & it didnt so he needed to get surgery. Only reason Phil says he wont ba back for a while is because he hates ppl bugging him & asking questions. NO news = good news. He"s chillin in LA with Kareem the Dream workin on the Post moves

Same excuse as last year's WCF.

At some point, a team goes with the team they have on the floor and stops making excuses for losses.

The Lakers didn't lose to the Celtics last year because of the refs or because Bynum was missing.

The Lakers lost because they couldn't beat the better team...period.

Yes, we were outmatched and we lost against the Lakers. No excuses. However, I would be willing to bet a lot more money on the Spurs this year if we have our line-up now as is. If Duncan, gets worse we're out. If Manu gets hurt again, we're out. I'm not making excuses, that's how the ball bounces. I'm just saying that objectively analyzing the match-ups, a healthy Manu will make all the difference in the world. And, Bynum will be back, believe me. In the end, we all know when two teams are as good as LA and the Spurs it will come down to health, coaching and cajones (balls).

I agree with this and cajones are vital to winning any kind of series no matter the talent.

I just don't like saying "We lost because xxxx player was missing". If it's Kobe or Duncan not playing, ok, I can understand excuses...but not the 2nd/3rd/4th/5th guys missing.

But yes, objectively analyzing match-ups Manu would make a huge difference, he just doesn't make a difference in games he didn't play.

Ghazi don't be an ass. I refuse to dignify that drivel with a lengthy response. I wonder what Dirk's excuse was for the choke in 2006? He wasn't hurt. Just forget it-don't even have to respond. I'm not even going there. No siree....

While the Los Angeles Lakers battle through their longest road trip of the season, back in Los Angeles injured center Andrew Bynum nears a return.
Bynum partially tore his right MCL on January 31st in Memphis against the Grizzlies. The original timetable for recovery was said to be 8-12 weeks.
According to his website www.andrewbynum.com, Bynum has progressed to the point where he is "playing 2 on 2 and 3 on 3, while waiting on the team to return."
Following standard recovery protocols, Bynum's next step towards recovery would be to test himself in a 5 on 5 scrimmage . . . typically the final step before a player is back on the active roster.
The Lakers are scheduled to play the Charlotte Bobcats and Milwaukee Bucks on back-to-back nights on Tuesday and Wednesday. Coach Phil Jackson wouldn't be likely to hold a full practice on Thursday.
The team's next home game is on Friday against the Houston Rockets, likely without Bynum. If, however, he can get in a full practice on Saturday, April 4th . . . perhaps the Lakers will be able to get him on the court against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.
That assumes that Bynum's knee responds well to the increase in activity. A delay might take him to April 9th against the Denver Nuggets or even as late as the Memphis Grizzlies on the 12th.
The Lakers were able to lock up the top seed in the Western Conference without him but are eager to wield a complete roster for the coming postseason.

Duncan's line on 1/14 when they played head to head
    20 pts 9-19 shooting 10 rebs 8 assists 1 steal 2 blocks...oh yeah REAL good job...
You do realize Duncan hit most of those shots on Gasol, right? Or don't you remember Phil benching Bynum in the 4th and Parker/Duncan going to town in the middle?

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/...1&p2=duncati01

Timmy's CAREER FG% against Bynum is 46%. Including a 2-13 performance and 10-23 that went to OT.

    Umm....honestly..

I mean honestly you're going to make this post? Really?

Let me give you some advice, if I had a insanely injury prone center (which I do, so listen to what I'm telling you), I wouldn't be testing the fates and playing the "See...see, I told y'all so" card. Just like Manu, your "I told you so" dumbass post could blow up in your face and he could be out for the year, the the very next game.

Really you should delete your post and knock on wood pronto.

Oh BTW...epic first post. I mean this is the Iron Man of the NBA we're talking about.....good odds he stays healthy.
