Your team still has no shot at getting the 8 seed.
No shot? The Mavs have 5 very losable games in their final 6 games, and the Suns have 5 should-wins out of our final 7 games.

Actually mono if we lose on Sunday the door is very open for the Suns since they would have a tie breaker advantage. Their schedule is kinda cushy down the stretch.

*sigh*, I'm kinda deflated at this point. I was holding out hope for a higher seed but 8th is just the ing death note. No shot against the Lakers. At least a slim shot against a team like the Spurs/Nuggets/Rockets.

    *sigh*

At least we have our 2006 NBA Championship.

How about if the Suns miss the playoffs you never post here again? Are you that confident? Didn't think so.

    No shot.

You don't think it's at least PLAUSIBLE the Mavs could go 2-3 down the stretch and the Suns could go 4-1? They have the tie breaker.

    I'm not saying it's probable.

In all likelihood the Mavs will seal the Suns fate on Sunday, but I'm just saying.

FWIW I know for a while I was proclaiming Phoenix is done but I guess that was because of the assumption that Mavs could win games on their home court against Denver and beat the Grizzlies on the road.

I give them a 10% shot. Sorry if it sounds like I'm back pedaling.

I have to lol at Ghazi being the one to admit that the Mavs could possibly miss the playoffs and Mono being the homer saying they won't. It's opposite day!

Wow...the impossible just happened. Jazz lost to a horrible team...at home! If the impossible happens one more time (against the Warriors or Clippers), the Suns could still beat the Jazz into the playoffs, since the Jazz have 4 road games against winning teams.

    Even a 40% chance isn't "no shot."

you Mavs...Jazz lose at home to the T-Pups and you take a in Memphis. This team has no sack and Carlisle is a in moron. Stop playing that 3 guard lineup of Kidd, Barea and JET. Wonder why the Grizz got back in the game in the 2nd quarter or why you got outrebound like a bunch of midgets...

Well that all but guarantees a loss to Phoenix on Sunday. If the Mavs have any chance of improving their playoff positioning, rest assured they'll find the most efficient way possible to piss that opportunity away.

There are no excuses for the Mavs losing to a ty team like the Grizzlies. They can't afford to lose games right now. With this Mavs team, anything is possible so they need to win as many games as they can because the Suns aren't going to just lay down without a fight.

Mavs aren't good enough to have "inexcusable" losses IMO.

    We're just not that good.

Besides, its the NBA. Thunder beat Spurs, Kings almost beat Hornets, 7 man Warrior team beat Hornets, TWolves won @ Utah. It happens. EVERY team is fighting for positioning in the West, except for the Lakers.

Earlier in the year I think we were benefiting from Terry playing EXTREMELY well along with Dirk.

Now that Terry's cooled off it's just Dirk really. Dirk + a mediocre assemable of offensive/defensive talent means on any night we can have "inexcusable" losses, therefore they actually are kinda excusable.

But that's why J-Ho is necessary for this team. He can bail the team out if Terry has an off night, kinda like against Miami.

But, I don't buy such a thing as an "inexcusable" loss in the NBA. Grizzlies got some young talent, very good wing players (v an atrocious perimeter D), and the Mavs aren't very good and down a player which makes it even worse. It's not exactly surprising why the Mavs lost this game.

all I know is we better protect the home f'ng court if we want at least a shot at the 7 seed and the Nuggets. still a likely loss but give me them over the Lakeeers.

It doesn't help when Dirk can't buy a bucket in the last 3 minutes of the game... He couldn't miss just minutes earlier...
