Oh come on. Tortillas are already cheap; cheaper than bread at least. But if you guys who make your own need a taste tester, I'm available. I'll test for your moms too; , my mom couldn't make a tortilla if her life depended on it!

For your es.![]()
I do. My mom passed hers down to me. I don't like to use powdered garlic or comino.
My mom gave me hers as well. I cherish it. It's already broken in....she used it at least 30 yrs.
Oh yea, like you can't afford tortillas!
I used my grandmas for salsa and chile colorado, but that's all.

Meet me in the back, we need to talk.![]()
Yes, it is priceless to me.
Okay, now that we are talking Mexican, what's the deal with these nopales?? When I was a kid I had a friend from around here, and I'm not too sure, but I think they ate them at her house with beans or with scrambled eggs. I see them at HEB, and I would like to try it out.
My mom makes them for my dad during Lent. I've never tried them though.
about? you not making sense?![]()
i could never stomach nopales. my dad makes some rockin' albondigas for lent. he makes them extra healthy by frying them in crisco. mmmmm......and the capirotada............yum
You need a tortilla press to make corn tortillas right.
How do you roll them?
I would think they would get stuck to your rolling pin.
Molcajete.
Why couldn't you stomach them? How were they prepared? Albondigas for Lent? They aren't meat? Capirotada? With cheese?? YUCK!!
