Maybe it's just the San Antonian me...lol But I agree with Manny, I could absolutely live off of rice beans and tortillas. They should make some type of diet out of that...it's one I would stick to for sure!
It makes my crispy beef tacos taste awesome.
Shut up!![]()

No .
My mom has well over 20 of those plants.
She gave me one when she visited over a year ago but it died.
You two will be the first to get our family recipe.![]()
from the guy that thinks quesadillas are made with flour tortillas.
Those are serrano chiles.
Touche.
The albondigas my mom makes are meatballs with rice and es and cooked with papas and is in a soup broth. We just called them bollitas con piqietos and she knew what we wanted.
I never said that.
I know what a real quesadilla is.
My lady's mother makes them with tuna.
It's ing disgusting.
My neighbor when I was growing up had one in her front yard ... I used to grab some and do terrible things to my friends with them. Those little bas s are HOTTTT.![]()
hmmm. that sounds far from what my dad makes.
Try HEB Mercado on Culebra and 24th. They have a load of different peppers there, it makes up like half their produce section.
Did you have them with that red sauce they make from the dried chiles?
That was some good .
I haven't had that in years.
Why would they sell nopales? It grows everywhere.
My mom had one in the front yard when we lived in Hollywood, but it never got that big because people were out there stealing the leaves every time a new one would develop. I've seen them get HUGE though.
<cough>post89<finishcough>
We usually either ate them plain with a little more cheese on top or with homemade ranchera sauce.
I'm sure it is. But I bet it is good eating!!
it's how i keep my girlish figure
I make quesadillas with both corn and flour. Anyone ever watch Rick Bayless on PBS? He goes through the whole history of Mexican dishes.
quesadillas are better with corn. bayless is cool, but just creeps me out.
Sister's recipe -
Calabacita……
I usually use pork steak, but you can use chicken if you like.
1 lb of pork steak, cut into pieces
2 large green zuccinies, cut into pieces
1 can of whole corn, drained
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 small can of tomato sauce
1 tbs. ground comino
1 tbs. garlic powder
Salt/pepper to taste
Brown pork steak till cooked.
Add zucchini and corn and cover and cook on medium till zucchini is soft and cooked.
Add remaining ingredients
Cook for about 15 minutes…………….ENJOY!!!
I haven't had that in years.
