When Bonner starts letting rebounds go through his fingers, it's time to take him out.
Is that you, Pop?
Well, you know if you played Bowen and Thomas more, they might be able to play better defense.
When Bonner starts letting rebounds go through his fingers, it's time to take him out.
pop starts bowen if the oppoenet is pierce or someone like that. Its pointless for this kings lineup. And is the SF scoring all teh points? I remember them goin on this stupid run, when bobby jackson made some bull shots, and friggin spencer hawkes playing like hes hakeem and hitting a three over oberto. Please explain how bowen woudl magically prevent those shots. Its not a video game where u "plug bowen". bowen does have a role, but imo mostly on "certain" players, pop feels he can guard.
kigs 7-10 from downtown
only down 7
spurs in great postion
First, the starters would play long minutes. It's necessary when you're missing 2 of the big 3.
My bench would be Vaughn, Hill, Finley, Udoka, Bonner/Oberto.
i really dont know the answer to ths, but i guess since he played so well earlier in the year - almost 50% from 3... pop is still givin him a chance to get back to that form. If he doesnt, dont worry he wont see the PO. But give hima chance to rebound against kings, if he clicks its a big plus for this year. If he doesnt, he wont make it to the PO, let alone next year.
excellent should we just tank the b2b then? with teh starters palying long minutes? What if the kings had really sucked? THen pop playing the starters conservatively interspered with losers from teh bench would have been brillaint no?
we make our FTs and it is a 1 pt game.
Tony scores so easily you almost take his talent for granted. It's amazing.
Again, well said.
Obviously Pop does not have the same confidence he once had in Bruce, because he doesn't use him like he used to - to cool off the hot perimeter guy, whoever it may be.
When you have no Tim, you're playing Bonner rather than Horry, Bruce barely gets 12 minutes a game, and Manu is sitting )not a great individual defender, but a gifted steal-gambler), there's no way you can play D at the level we've come to expect of the Spurs.
If this team shot FTs better we'd be a top 2 seed...
Damn right.![]()
not really......cause we dont get enough FT attempts....cause we dont have CP3, Lebron, Wade, or Gasol
Has any Spur team during the Pop era ever shot in the top 5 % wise for FT's?
Roger is heating up..we need it badly..
Roggggggerrrrr Massssssonnnnnnn Jrrrrrrrrrrr!
maaaaaaaaassssson
Spencer Hawes is having the game of his life, just because I hate him as a player...
Kurt is playing horribly..
No it's not well said.
How do you know for sure that we couldn't get back to being a defensive team?
We've only got a small sample size to go off of and when Bruce was playing more and started those few games I thought the defense was pretty good.
Pop never even tried it long enough.
This is similar to the Dallas series is 2006. Everyone wanted to go big in that series, but Pop kept going small. Are you going to say to me that it was the right decision. It very well may have been, but Pop never even tried to go big to see how that would work out. You can't dismiss something if you don't even bother to try it and give enough time to see if it works or not.
stop jacking up 3s..wow..
Kurt was being held, obviously no call..
I highly doubt there are 5 guys in the NBA that set better screens than Kurt Thomas..he makes it into an art form..
