this year will end with a game where Lebron goes like 3/14 from the line and they lose by a point. Something along those lines. It won't be another game winner. That's what makes Jordan's shot different in the perspective of Cleveland chokes. That was an individual performance. Normally the chokes are, what if this happened. Like what if they kicked the FG instead of Red Right 88, or what if Byner didn't fumble, this year will be no different

i guess teams from South Florida that are underdogs continue to haunt Cleveland and Dallas fans alike when they meet in the Finals of the respective sports
But you guys atleast have the Cowboys who have won something. I mean what is going on here in Cleveland is pretty impressive. All of our sports teams are choking, and have been since the mid 60's. I mean each franchise has their own mega choke. Every one of them. That is pretty impressive. , even our college team is starting down that path. It's like a virus.

if the Cavs lose in the first round to the Pistons I won't post on here anymore because I will have jumped off a bridge. I'm prepared for a loss to Boston or LA, and still coming around to Orlando, but if we lose in the first round I'm not going to be able to take that.

the only pride with the Cowboys is that with past success, we are like the Yankees of the NFL. we're always the center of attention and everywhere we go, stadiums sellout.

as far as dwelling on championships won over a decade ago, i dont like to do that unlike other fans

    *cough*cough*Rockets*cough*

Yeah I get that. I'm not looking for bragging rights. I just honestly do not know what it feels like to see and experience a team you follow win a championship. I mean the closest I have gotten in pro sports is having my team atop a Power Rankings for a week. , even Ohio State in 2002 was marked by most because of the pass interference call. So we didn't even get to soak it in.

The only parade I have experienced is for the Indians for losing the World Series. That is what it has come to. Our fans go to the airport to welcome our team that just lost home, and we throw parades for them.

Just for the record, there's a difference between choking and getting shafted by refs and half court bull buzzer beating 3-pointers.

Just wanted to clear that up.

    And Phoenix owns NY

The D-Backs beat the Yankees in 2001, and there was that scene in spacejam where Barkley was destroying the Knicks. That's ownage if I've ever seen it

My uncle is friends with Carlos Baerga, and he gave my mom a bottle of champagne that the Indians would have used to celebrate a 1997 World Series. It says 1997 World Champions Cleveland Indians. It still sits on the bar at my parents' house and everytime I look at it, it seems strange that she keeps it. Like would a Yankees fan keep that? We hold onto to signify our loss

Don't forget Death Wish, when ex-pacifist Charles Bronson comes back from a vacation in Phoenix with a .32 and and blows away every mugger in NYC.

I've never even heard of that movie but it doesn't surprise me given Phoenix's complete ownage of that inferior city.

40-1 is pretty much still up in the air right now. It's for the Cavs to decide pretty much....Is it worth the record for possible injury and less rest? Playoffs start on Saturday.

Philly gets Boston today and the Celtics have nothing to play for and a reason to help Philly get the win since the Celtics own the original 40-1.

If Philly wins, they're still playing for the #6 spot tomorrow versus the Cavs.

The 1995 Braves were a better team than the 1995 Indians. That's why the Braves won the World Series that year. They were the better team.

Even if the Cavs lose their final home game, going 39-2 at home is pretty impressive.

Braves had the better pitching, but the Indians offense was filthy. Downright scary. They were 100-44 that season. Manny, Thome, Belle, Lofton, Baerga, Sorrento/Winfield, Murray.

The Braves' lineup and starting rotation was way better than the Indians. Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, and John Smoltz were amazing pitchers that year and when they were in their prime. And the Braves also had David Justice, Chipper Jones, Ryan Klesko, Javy Lopez, Fred McGriff, etc....
The Braves were the better team. Case closed.

Braves were the better overall team mainly due to starting pitching since good pitching beats good hitting. But the Indians had the best offense in baseball. Chipper was just a rookie and had solid numbers but not great. No one on the Braves put up anywhere near the numbers Belle put up. Manny was better than Klesko. Thome too. It's close, but the Indians had the edge. Braves starting pitching was the key and Mark Wohlers in the pen. Braves should have won back-to-back but Wohlers blew Game 4 allowing Leyritz to hit a 3-run shot.

Manny Ramirez hit seventh in that lineup. Seventh. Sixth against lefties. Just a stupid lineup. But Atlanta had way, way more experience. The core of that Braves team had been to two World Series. Cleveland hadn't even made the postseason since 1954. Four years earlier, while the core of that Atlanta team was going to its first World Series, the Indians were losing 105 games. The experience disparity really showed in that series.

Still, that was an unbelievable team. To go from years and years of losing to having that kind of talent, almost overnight, was unreal.
