Dallas would not be better off swapping out Devin Harris for Jason Kidd. Harris is an incredible scorer and an Iverson-lite, and he helps neutralize Tony Parker, but I guarantee you the Mavs don't go 50-32 and grab the 6 seed with Harris.

You're absolutely right.....the Mavs might have HCA if Harris was still on the team.....and this series would probably not go as long as the 6 games I am predicting it will go considering SA is without Manu and Duncan is < 100%.

Sorry, but Harris is a good player, but he is one-dimensional. I grant you that I'd rather have him to cancel out Parker than Kidd, but league-wide, I would rather have what Kidd did for us this year.

The draft picks, the cash, sacrificing the MLE, that is inexcusable, but I'm basically fine with it. The only thing that makes me wince is the age difference, but I don't think Devin Harris is a franchise guy. He's a #2 at best.

Not saying he'll be a franchise player anytime in his career; but at this point in time, youth is the Spurs kryptonite (hence why we Spurs fans all breathed a sigh of relief over not having to start the playoffs in Portland). Harris is one of the only point guards in the league who can keep up with Parker and much more of a volume scorer than Kidd. Kidd is an overall better player, but he can't keep up with TP and has never been a consistent shooter. I guarantee you the Spurs will try to make his offense beat them as opposed to Dirk or Terry's.
