take that kobe haha
it's the first time that Timmy isn't the 1st spurs on the list
take that kobe haha
i was hoping kobe would win it. no mvp has won the championship since tim duncan.
So LeBron "WALKED" away with the award this year; I hope that thing "TRAVELS" well. That last part didn't flow so smoothly but it still conveys my point.
Congrats to Lebron. Kinda put a good old fashion ass whooping on Kobe the Whiner!
I'm pretty sure Manu finished 8th last year and TD 1 spot behind him.
Now I am not saying this to bag on TP, but I am saying this because I think people forgot how good Manu was last season before he got injured.
Anyway TP has taken it up another level this season, possibly superstar status. AWESOME stuff TP.
I'm pretty sure Manu got more votes than TD last season.
Does anyone have last season's list?
Having another look at that how the did Billups finish higher than Parker and HOW THE does Billups get more free throws than TP? This is some BS.
I think Tony did himself in with the "Can't get up for the OKC's of the NBA" line. Must've rubbed some voters the wrong way.Billups has helped transform Denver with his leadership on both ends of the floor and proved his value to Detroit upon his exit.
Regardless, Tony is was the Spurs' MVP for a good chunk of the season and all of the playoffs.
It's still BS. The injury depleted Spurs only finished 1 game behind the Nuggets didn't they? TP was one of the main reasons for that.
How many injuries did Denver have this season?
The free throw stat I read a few weeks ago and was amazed that someone like TP who penetrates a lot of the time got less free throws than Billups who is more of a jump shooter.
Looks like I was wrong about Manu finishing ahead of TD last season. I thought I read here that Manu finished ahead, maybe I did and whoever wrote the list last season had the wrong order?

ROFLMAO @ dirk being first team all nba this year. Has it really come to this?
I guess they are forced to do it to make his forgotten mvp more legit.
How come the "seeding" argument works in support of Tony but not in defense of Pop?Not saying you specifically are the one implying this but it is something I've noticed in general, lol.
I guess it comes down to the way you perceive each player's role and their value: You have one player (Tony) who carried a team for much of the year (especially offensively) and another (Chauncey) who influenced the overall level of his team's game and changed the iden y of another with his departure (for the bad); different types of impact to measure.
As far as FTs: More people going for headfakes on jumpshots maybe? That and Tony getting to the basket before defenders having the chance to foul him, maybe? Not sure.
Is this yours or the official Teams? Is the All Defensive Team out yet? I didn't think they'd been released yet.
Close games too.Billups is a great FT shooter so he has the ball at the end of the games. In the Spurs the ball usually goes to Mason or Finley.
2 or more FTs per game easily
Good point. He's definitely a deal closer at the line.
Just for the fun of it.

One interesting fact I found about the MVP winners is the oldest to win the MVP was MJ and Malone at age 35. I guess once you pass 35 it marks the end of a player playing at an mvp level.
uh oh... C'mon, Parker's defense is not always great but it's not a liability.
overall, Parker CAN be a very good defender.
I don't know why he doesn't play good defense on a regular basis but he can do it.
He proved it in the past and will prove it again.
That being said, don't expect me to tell you he is a great defender cause he's not.
the forward list, where is Kevin Durant?
This season, Durant > Granger/Pierce
