Would you take him back? I remember him sucking as a Spur. He seems to have gotten much better.
Why would he come back? Most players have big egos that remember all the slights they took on their way up. We let him go 'cause he wasn't good enough for the Spurs. He won't forget that.

Yeah because I have never seen Tim or Tony miss free throws down the stretch.
    Typical.

Hedo sucked when he was a Spur previously, and now he's the savior?

Spur fan always, and I mean always, thinks the grass greener when it comes to players on other rosters.

Tim and tony may miss some free throws down the stretch, and when they do, Spur fan all but crucify them. Hedo does same, and we you want him on your roster.

    go figure.

Uh, they let him go because to sign Manu to a decent size contract in the summer of 04, they had to renounce his rights.

Would you rather they had resigned Turkoglu and not Ginobili?

    Spot on.

Games 4 and 5 were just Exhibits A and B of why he's the epitome of the Clifford Robinson type player.

Repeating this will not make it true. The Spurs could have had Hedo and Manu.

nelson messed everything up they lost their confidence
they were in awe of the lakers
spurs would not let that happen

Hedo would be by far the best perimeter defender on the team outside of Bowen.

    But ain't happenin'.
Hopefully Finley ain't happenin' this year either.

I'd rather live (or die) with a one-legged Manu who lives for the moment in crunch time, than roll the dice with Hedo for the same $$$.

I don't trust him, but I trust Manu to at least leave everything on the court.

hedo would not have to have the ball late in the game here
    tp,mason duncan are here

tp is the most clutch spur anyhow

If teams leave Hedo to double because he's not hitting shots and he doesn't have the ball, then he's slightly less useful than Speedy Claxton.

Hedo got a bad rap from his time with the Spurs, where Pop's "system" turned Hedo into a spot up three point shooter (which he has never been and never will be). Just like every other wing player not named Manu (and not for lack of trying to turn Manu into a spot up shooter as well)

Hedo is a player who needs the ball in his hand, so that he can create off the dribble, and mix his offensive game up. And he is very good defensively.

He is exactly the type of player the Spurs have always needed.

But like others said, it won't happen, due to monetary issues.
Hedo was pretty damn effective in that system when the games didn't matter. He hit those open spot-up threes fine (at a 42% clip in the season) until the games started to mean something in the Lakers series. He was a giant vagina mentally, which is why he wasn't brought back.

Hedo has opted out and will return to Magic unless another teams overpays him.
