No doubt.
Only Duncan will be under contract for 2011-2012 .
2011 plan, here we come.![]()
No doubt.
I'm hoping that Pop plans to incorporate that aspect of his game, too, and not make him another 3-point line loiterer.
You stole my post![]()
Quoted to permanently do ent a rare timvp error.![]()
Never been a Jefferson fan but his numbers surprised me when I dug into them.
Hasn't missed a game in 2 years, averages 20 a game and shoots over 43%. Statistically, he's on par with Carter.
No harm in doing this trade, especially if Bowen comes back.
you mean like we did? so gasol is no longer a gift?
Note that Yahoo had the deal up at Noon, ESPN not until 1.
Wojnarowski and Yahoo Sports ain't playing around.
Holt accepting a big contract in a trade has me stunned.
Props to Holt if this is true.
Lol. What bs.
This entire forums was a circle jerk of whining about the Gasol trade which was basically an expiring for him.
Back on topic though, congratulations. Next season will be VERY interesting.
Wow, I know this will affect our big men, but there's no way we can't do this trade if that's all we're giving up..
I fully expect Bowen to be back though, but that might depend on Finley's return..
Jefferson hasn't played D in a few years, but he's been a proven solid defensive player in the past..playing in the Spurs system with motivation would definitely bring him back defensively IMO..he's the best slasher we would have ever had outside of our big 3..
this is basically giving up Kurt for Jefferson, which is obviously a no-brainer..this can't be the only move though, because we're going to need at least one other legit big man to play for us..
I won't believe it until it's official though, since it involves the Spurs..
if this trade goes down, then we have official filled the starting SF position, which was one of our big holes going into next season..now we need to find a way to get a role player big man that can start..
do, do it now, don't think, don't blink, pull the ing trigger NOW
Does the acquisition of RJ open the possibility of a Manu trade? Several teams are looking to move their bigs.... Camby? Kaman? Dalembert?
Lol. Seriously. What a bunch of hypocritical es.
Again congratulations to the spurs. That's a uva foursome. Jaysis...
If this is announced today, they can't actually push it through until after July 1 right? Or is that just FA signings.
Me likey this deal.![]()
wow i am amazed you guys are taking on a big contract.
If this goes through...
I like the idea of having Gooden stick around.
See, I knew there was something we could agree on.![]()

The Milwaukee Bucks agreed to trade Richard Jefferson to the San Antonio Spurs for Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto a Bucks source told ESPN.com.
The two teams have agreed to the deal in principle. A trade call to make the deal official is coming later Tuesday.
The move gives the Spurs a dynamic wing scorer to play alongside Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. The Spurs had promised to make their team better this summer and adding Jefferson for role players should give them a huge shot in the arm.
The Bucks incentive to make the trade is largely financial. Bowen, Oberto and Thomas are all in the last year of their contracts. The deal will clear $15 million off the books for the Bucks next season and give Milwaukee more flexibility for next year. It also saves them roughly $3 million this year. That may give the Bucks the wiggle room to sign one of their restricted free agents -- either Charlie Villanueva or Ramon Sessions -- next year.
Obviously Bowen, Oberto and Thomas also give the Bucks some veterans who will fill key holes for the team. The move also opens up some playing time for the Bucks lottery pick last year, Joe Alexander.
or its bonner as the fulltime pf.
That is just free agent signings. This deal can be done today.
Nah, you keep Manu. Unlike adding a typical first option, Jefferson won't have a problem coexisting. It's not like adding a VC who will pout if he doesn't get his 15 shots a game.
The Spurs had a glaring hole at SF and RJ fits that. I don't see why the Spurs would open a glaring hole at SG by trading Manu.
This is good news for Manu because Jefferson can help carry the load and keep Manu fresh for the playoffs.
