I've said it time and again, No disrespect to la for beating who was in front of them. But there were no really great teams this year period. I believe a team like boston or us if healthy with or without sheed can take this laker teams heart, I still believe there a bunch of pussies, who if really pushed will crumble like they did against the celtics.

What is going on with Odom and Ariza? The Lakers picked up some cash draft night, in anticipation of FA, July 1st. Are they prepared to take on both contracts? Has anybody heard any recent reports on the likelihood of being able to keep both?

I know we're hoping they don't sign both so our run to the Championships will be easier. Any Laker fan knowledge on this? Any predictions?

fwiw some of the more knowledgeable posters on the on Lakers' boards think that Ariza may be the one at risk and that the Pistons will make him an offer in the $7 million range. Some think that Buss may not match at that level, that his pain threshold is $100 million salary + tax, while others think he will +/- minority owners stepping up and helping him with the luxury tax. Who knows if any of this is accurate and who knows where Shannon Brown fits in.

Too bad Spurs can't indulge themselves with those advantages. SJax and Hedo would still be on the team, Lakers would have won jack and Spurs would be going for a 7-peat.

100 million in salary + lux tax. Damn

And the city couldn't even afford to pay for the whole Championship parade.
Big market=big money. Once again, SA is so impressive with 4 les in this small market.

Ariza was effective shunting down Hedo which was key to Lakers' success. Granted he was allowed to continuously hard bump Hedo trying to come around picks without getting called for the foul, much the way the refs swallowed the whistle years earlier letting Karl Malone in the playoffs, when playing for the Lakers, run through Duncan when Duncan went up for shots without a hint of a call. Nevertheless he was effective and a key part of the Lakers win.

Trevor Ariza was a stud for the playoffs for the Lakers bailing them out of games against the Nuggets and Rockets and even Jazz.

Losing him would be a gigantic blow.

The bottom line is the Laker franchise has always ponied up the cash when they felt they had a contender. I see no reason why they wouldn't now, especially after Kupchak sold all those draft picks.

The Lakers are good getting better. Now that they won the 'ship they will mentally be stronger than they were before. Internal improvements to Ariza, Bynum, and Brown coupled with all of the Laker's core being in their primes means they will likely find themselves in the Finals once again.

Tim Duncan and Ginobili are simply not capable of doing what they once did at the prime of their careers, even when they are healthy. That's a reality that still hasn't set in for most Spur fans.

... and just when in the past has Buss been in the spending league of Cuban, Dolan or Allen, territory he's about to enter?

It's not just Duncan and Ginobili, dude...you have been keeping up with current events, right???

Anyway, the Lakers will not repeat in 2010.

What a doofus. At the very least be honest with yourself and show the lakers as your team. You fool no one with your stupid, juvenile antics.

This thread is a complete and total failure!!!

If the Spurs get Rasheed, and Cleveland plays subpar, they'll get a ring. I'm way more worried about King James than Kobe.

Huh? You're kidding, right! The Cavs should count their blessings that Orlando knocked them out. The Lakers would have done to the Cavs what the Spurs did to the Cavs...sweep em! Now Orlando is stronger, the Spurs are stronger, the Lakers will sign Odom & Ariza so they will remain strong...then the Cavs got Shaq. Shaq will not make it 3 Stars he helps win a ring with. It stopped with D.Wade...

You guys call him a troll but he was dead on in his predictions for the '09 playoffs. Maybe he's just saying the things you all don't want to hear, but deep down believe to be true.

I love how you Faker Trolls stick up for each other. Hmmmm, there is something strange out in La La Land. Actually, it is normal as for the Plastic city!

Why not? According to Lakers fans, the lack of Rick Fox cost them a championship.

I love how Spur fan is proclaiming the Spurs to be the 2010 champs without even seeing the new team play a single minute on the floor.

Here is the biggest question looming for Spurs fans but they are trying to hold off for as long as possible. When Duncan finally retires, how long before the Spurs get another championship? You'd have to get lucky in the lottery again because everyone knows a big talent isnt going to a small market. So I would say a good 30-40 years. Sound about right? Get ready, Spurs fans because that scenario is right around the corner.

Yo dumbass, you think Kobe can play forever? Kobe will be 31 in August. Duncan's only 2 years older. So, once again, GTFO, Noob.

I swear, you girlieboyz from La La Land are so damn funny. The way you ladies swap spit, hold hands when walking down the street and showing just how totally ignorant La La Landers are when Jay Leno would go out and ask the extremely simple questions that an uneducated 2 year old would know, yet you morons could not. I'm talking questions like what is 1 + 1 or who is the current President or who was the first President or how many days in a week. But, I'm glad you dumbazzes post here so we can keep laughing our own asses off at you flakes!

I really think the Spurs have a chance of landing Kevin Durant in 2011. He is just the type of player that the would shun a big market to play for the Spurs. He is a kid that loves the Austin area and has attended some Spurs games before. By 2011 he could easily be a top ten player in the NBA, perhaps even a top 5 player.
