From Hoopsworld:
The Boston Celtics are working to get a meeting with Rasheed Wallace, who is said to be close to a deal with the San Antonio Spurs. Wallace was scheduled to meet with the Spurs and the Cavs today, as well. The Celtics are willing to offer two seasons, so the deciding factor may be which team is willing to gamble for a third season on an older big man.
So could the Spurs be the team offering Gortat the full MLE? Now that would be humorous afer all the things said here about Houston and Dallas possibly doing so.
I like Gortat, but I don't like this move right now if it is true. Who knows...perhaps the FO already had some sort of heads up that Sheed would not be coming here and planned to go a different direction. But if that is true I would think they would at least reach out to McDyess.
All this reporting is BS..
Nobody actually has any news, it's just speculation..
Yeah I just saw that![]()
Now we know it won't happen.![]()
Rasho for cheap would be a better deal than that.
If he plays 30 minutes, Gortat can average 10 pts, 10 rbds, and 2 blocks
Hopefully this is NOT true at all.![]()
Do you guys actually believe that these ESPN guys have legit sources?..they've been flip-flopping on this subject for weeks..every day they have a different story on where Wallace is going..
the Spurs were rumored to be getting him for a while heading into the off-season..then Bucher says that Wallace doesn't wanna play in Boston..then Orlando becomes the favorite after the Carter trade..then Orlando apparently won't pay that much..then Bucher and Broussard are split on Boston/San Antonio after Boston shows interest..now they're saying Boston after Boston made an aggressive pitch..
Didn't the FO also "reportedly" offer a signifcant portion of the MLE to Bouroussis in Greece?Grain of salt my freinds...
True. I've seen the flip-flopping stories from ESPN for the past few weeks as well...they dont know jack !![]()
Until someone signs, I'm not believing anything reported. There are just to many conflicting reports right now.
Chris Broussard just said on Sportscenter that now he thinks Sheed is going to wait this out but ultimately end up in Boston. He said the Spurs are not showing as much interest in Sheed as people may think...and that the Spurs are targeting Gortat with the whole MLE instead. And that Sheed would end up in Boston also because of their "aggressiveness" to get him.
None of that info is correct, its bull .
EVEN IF HE MANS UP AND GROWS A PAIR... I NEVER WANT TO SEE THAT MAN IN A SPURS UNIFORM AGAIN!!!

It doesn't really make a difference anyways..
Gortat already accepted an offer from Dallas, and now Orlando has to match..
so if Marcin was our #1 option, he's gone now..there's still plenty of time to make a pitch at Wallace, and you'd have to believe he was in our top 2 options..otherwise, I have no idea why they aren't as interested as they should be..
Gortat just committed to the mavs. But if Gortat was the guy they liked over Sheed, perhaps they're moving on to Zaza?
Of course another very viable alternative is that Broussard doesn't know what he's talking about.........
I for one am hoping Gortat is gone to the Mavs so we can hopefully get Sheed!
McDyess?
