The arrival of Turkoglu will put the Blazers on a small list of teams that will be picked to compete with the Lakers for the Western Conference le.

I think this will hurt them in the long run when they need to re sign their youngsters. I would like to have a shot at Webster, Outlaw or Batum.

I don't see any reason to get Fernandez, despite his ability.

I'd rather have Fernandez coming off the bench than Fin.

That stockpile of SFs will no doubt be offered in exchange for a PG upgrade.

You think he'll be happy here with even less minutes and shots off the bench? We're jammed at the wing positions right now. Even if we pulled off a trade for him, I doubt he'd get a bigger role than his previous one on the Blazers.

I don't see any reason not to start Manu. He's getting older and with his injury woes, he needs to start and stay warm. If he doesn't start for Pop's reasonings, Mason will. RJ will be starting as well. Therefore, Rudy would always come off the bench. He would never have a chance to start. If Manu is on the bench, he's the second wing off the bench for RJ. With RJ getting tons of $ as well as keeping Manu's health in mind, you can bet he'll be playing a ton of minutes as well. I don't see how Rudy's wants fit within our team.

First, like Houston with Ariza, Portland will regret this move, especially if they give him close to the 50 million he wanted. They might get one to two good years out of him.

Second, there is no way in Portland gives up Fernandez to anyone in the Western Conference without getting back a major piece. The Spurs didn't trade Manu in 2003 despite the fact that we were loaded at the two and three spots. My guess is that it will take a high draft pick or a multiple player deal to get them to trade Fernandez, he is too good of a basketball player. Much better than a few million dollar salary dump that a Finley, Mason, or Bonner could provide.

Every free agency move can be related to the Spurs. For example, the Blazers signing Turk may open up some of their other players being available.

So please stop trying to be the forum police in every thread. I'll move/lock threads that should be moderated.

    Thanks.

Good move by the Blazers. Definitely an upgrade for them at the small forward spot. Let's see if they can get a quality point guard for some combo of the mediocre small forwards/guards on that roster.

Maybe Marcus Williams isn't really "injured". He isn't on SL roster because Spurs have a trade for Batum ready.

Wouldn't that be excellent. In your opinion, if the Spurs are to make another trade, do you think it will happen before the season, or do you think it will be closer to the trade deadline? Or both?

I guess it will depend on what the young players will show in SL.
If Blair/Mahinmi/Gist are a disaster, Spurs will likely try to put a trade for a good big this summer.
If none all the wings in the SL shows something interesting, Spurs could try to get their prospect wing on the trade market.

Trades also depends on what other teams offer. If there is a great opportunity (like a Batum on the cheap), Spurs must take it and be opportunist.

Now that they have reached an agreement with Hedo, arent they overloaded at the wing? How possible is to target one of their SF say batum?
