As long as everyone still sees this as a Republican v Democrat issue there's nothing we can do about it. The stimulus is just a smokescreen to get attention away from the bailout.
If they were really serious they would just give a million dollars to everyone to go stimulate the economy with. That'll fix it. Watch that GDP soar.

He should take heat for this. Instead of rushing the stimulus package, they should have taken their time and did things right.
From the get go they said that this problem would take years to fix and it wouldn't be easy. If they knew from the start that the recovery was going to take a long time, they shouldn't have put forth such a strung out bill.
I'm not gonna about pig research or turtle roads, because in all honesty one mans trash is another man's treasure, but I definitely don't see justification for a lot of things in there.

No, it's very meaningful to tell you you don't know what you are talking about if you only open your eyes and ears.
There should have been specific goals, specific efficiencies in mind, and specific timetables.
It felt more like they put a whole bunch of money in a slop bucket, splashed it in the trough, yelled out "soowee" and walked away.
Perhaps more input from state/municipal level administrators (I know senators and congressman are supposed to be that... but I think they're more interested in politics than what's actually good for an area). Obama spoke so much of treating the economy with a scalpel as opposed to McCain's hatchet... but a hatchet is exactly what we got.
