that's the problem here, commitment, and that was the whole point of running a Preseason.
looking at the 2ksports.com site i noticed not even a half of us have played more then 4 games in Preseason. i've played 5 so far and have tried to play more just to be told "not right now" while that person turns around and goes and plays a regular xbl 2k game. if you're both online then play your games!
other then all that bs i am all up for scrapping this Preseason because it isn't working at all. i am also fine with 8 min qtrs even though i prefer a longer game per qtr. settings are fine so the only thing we need to do now is come up with a draft date for Season2 and a time we can all agree upon.
here's my suggestion only because of how my own schedule is. i can draft any day friday to monday after 2pm CST. let me know all your schedules and i will find a time for us to draft and a date to do so as well.
as for the draft itself, well i had a few ideas which will probably be shot down. i will post my ideas in a minute when i can clearly state them for you all. give me a minute.
this is just an idea for now... what do yall think? this would leave us all with teams still way above average but not to the degree we're used to seeing(ie; everyone with their USA Olympic teams).
12 players per team
1st round drafting(4 picks)
4 all-star caliber players with an OVR of 85+
2nd round drafting(3 picks)
3 non-all-star caliber players with an OVR of 75-84
3rd round drafting(5 picks)
5 role players with an OVR of -75
That's fine with me. I just want shorter quarters 6-8 minutes.
Dude I might suck at 2k9 but you will never see me do this many crazy things in one season to try to make me better or have a decent team compared to the rest of the league. Are you serious homie, wooooow. Do you still play 21 with tips too ?
i'm not trying to make myself better compared to the rest of the league, not at all! i am trying to get away from the all out all-star teams that are in all leagues online. i could care less if i lose every game in this league as long as i feel the playing field has been leveled out somewhat. it's not that those who are awesome aren't still going to be awesome but it's the fact that no one gets better when we're all running 85+ OVR for all 12 players per team.
and it's not about having a decent team, it's about having a realistic team. at least that's what i am going for... i think it's weak when we are all running all-star teams and not necessarily relying on guys 6-12 but instead running our starters ragged because we can.
and dannyt if you don't like what i am trying to do here, well there's a simple solution for you... stay out of this thread and don't signup to play in a league i create because you will always find something to about. you're the last person who should be ing about anything considering the lack of sportsmanship you have shown not only to me but to my buddy maddsurf(ie; quitting & running through the menus annoying your opposition).
and i haven't played ball in like a yr( !) and when i do play 21 i don't play with tips. does that answer your question?

somewhat... in perspective you'd be able to draft any which way you'd like but you'd end up with said players in their OVR. if i see a team comprised of any other makeup i can replace said players with FAs who fit the OVR.
something along those lines.
Hey, WTF! What did I do?! I got someone talking about me? Haha! I have enjoyed every game I played even the one where I got beat by 40+points. I did curse a lot during that game though. HA! Any how, the only ty game I played was with this DannyT guy. it was a OK game until I gained the lead. Then it was repeated pausing with menu scrolling and even pausing during shots. Then quit on me after the first 12min quarter. If it's too long don't play and if something comes up during a long game like this and someone has to leave the game I understand. But gawd damn, I hate that pausing ! It's like playing a 12year old.

5-6 mins.....I'm out. too short for me.
7-10mins.....I'm down. I got no problems with that. I'm willing to compromise.
11-12mins..... yeah! I use to think these where long until i started playing them a lot. I understand why some think these are too long.
I dig the draft idea. Maybe it's just me, but this is why I kind of like the long games. I like subs and I like being able to play my broke legged and all washed up bench. Yes, I can do this with 5min quarters, but those bench players only get one or two shots in......Come on, respeck for the bench......Hahaha!
Oh, if you can regulate the draft what about games. Can you kick player IDs for bad sportsman ship? Like pausing every 5seconds including during shots. HAhaha!
Oh, almost forgot.... Draft night..... I'm good on any day after 6pm.

And now I can do better things like get laid, have a family, and make "real" money. Instead of playing "real" 12 minute games. I dont even know why I give you chumps the time of day. I've played 8 of my 10 games so I think I have an idea of most of the people's skill level. Expect for Z0sa, I'm just going to have to guess with you. All other games become old to me while some how the 2kseries always seem new. eh, maybe I'm just addicted to the game....
^^ I agree 2k rules. I've played around ten 82 game seasons+playoffs in association mode. It never gets "old" for me. But thats with 24 minute games.
I honestly stopped playing 12 min quarters after about 4 games in Nba Live 2003. Good people will score 200 points on you, and you can't say thats realistic. The most realistic scores, player energies, etc occur around 6min q's IMO.
btw, Ive been online every night and no one is challenging me to League games. I'm generally playing something different, but if yuo challenge me I will probably drop what I'm playing.

btw, besides the incident with my friend where you quit on him i remember clearly during season1 that you pulled the card on me twice. first, you tried to quit at the very end of our first game and ran through the menus and at that time i thought maybe something was going haywire and thought nothing of it. the second time though i knew you were full of . and now you go and pull the same with my friend, granted it was just a friendly game and not a league game but i was there to witness your bull once again.

as for the sliders... they haven't been adjusted from their defaults since day 1 of preseason. the only thing that will be changed in season2 vs preseason will be the amount of time per qtr.
and as far as regulating the draft, get over yourself! i've done everything in my power to not make this league about "me" and have tried to include everyone in everything i am thinking of and wanting to test regarding the league. i have not excluded anyone's criticism or anything.

btw, for those with preseason games still going, which is all of us, don't fret. if you are wanting to finish preseason by all means do so. preseason will not be shut down but it does not matter at this point where it's headed. it's a done deal and season2 is here!

i am going to be starting another job this coming weekend so time is going to be tight for me but i am definitely still down to play! season is still on! this weekend is the end for signups for those who didn't signup originally or play in the preseason. all preseason players will get an automatic invite. check your xblive sunday night or monday afternoon.
