"I guess the saying is true; "You can take the kid out of the hood but you'll never take the hood out of the kid". "

It was a pretty ignorant comment honestly.
Fortunately, I am not the original author of this comment. To say you've never heard this moniker used in any context would be a complete lie on your end. It wasn't an ignorant comment if you apply it to the context as to how it was used and from where I stand, it was an appropriate comment to use with the name JR Smith.

Whats funny is most people from LA don't even know of some of the places you just mentioned, and none of it is expensive. Most states have a few highlights, and that's it. I think you can find a comfort zone even in Mississippi, but it is extremely limited.
    Mississippi sucks. straight up.

Though to be fair, I haven't gone into the northern part of the state, only the coastal parts.

The Biloxi/Gulfport area is ok if you like casinos, or fishing.

Anything other than that, you're driving to New Orleans or Mobile.

There's not much in the northern part. The fun stops at oxford.

I have family there. They love fishing and gambling, and the women are the easiest on the planet. It makes up for the lack of activity, and the insects biting your ass.
Like I said, if you love fishing and gambling, you'll like Biloxi. I'm not a huge fan of either.

If your ever in the east part of L.A. I recommend some King Taco. Much better than anything your going to find at a Taco-Bell or Del Taco.

Someone in here posted some pics from Pinks! MAN, I MISS MY PINKS!!
King Taco's red salsa is great, and their carnitas, carne asada, and cabeza are outstanding. Sadly, their al pastor is crap compared to what you get from the street vendors in Mexico though (as is all other al pastor I have ever had in the US). My favorite East LA place is El Tepeyac though; their guacamole and red enchilada sauce are maybe the best I have ever had, and the Hollenbeck machaca is an outstanding burrito.

The menu isn't the same, yes. The food wasn't that far from the original, but it wasn't the same. It could've been the day in which I went, but then again why go to Vegas when the original is in my area?

Stop it Bum! All I've got here is this lousy Taco Cabana stuff. Not bad if your really hungry but this Tex-mex crap doesn't come close to anything back home. There are some local dives around here in S.A. in the southside and west side owned by nationals that put out REAL Mexican food. The perpetual argument here with my local San Antonio-native friends is that Tex Mex is it's own cuisine and leave it at that. Don't dishonor REAL Mexican food by calling Taco-Cabana, Las Palapas or any of these other joints REAL. It's insane.

Taco Cabana is one of the best fast food places I have found in this nation. It ain't King Taco, but it beats the out of Del Taco. Taco Cabana makes great chicken fajitas. Las Palapas makes great breakfast tacos too - carne guisada, chilaquiles, and barbacoa are my favorites. Texas barbacoa is seasoned differently or something from Cali cabeza, and I prefer the Texas stlye. As for Texas guisada (brown) vs Cali guisada (red) on enchiladas, I like both. Cali definitely puts Texas to shame on pork and seafood, but the situation is reversed on beef. Cali/NW Mexico tacos are too ing small too.

Every city is segregate...separated by classes...but In La its Worse than just about anywhere else in the US. You have people living in 120 million dollar estates. Now thats just not attainable by EVERYBODY in the city. So you have this class seperation that is pretty much a racial speration. LA is probably the most segregated community in the US. Blacks are in thier place..rich and poor..mexicans are in their place rich and poor..ect ect..

Furhtermore... its one of the most expensive places to live in the united states...Its is THE WORST major city to get around in the united states...Bar NONE... Because you idiots have people who want to visit to c Disnyland Knotsberry Farm Hollywood Blvd.Mans CHinese theater..ect..you think.."Wow my city is the " But people visit the Grand Canyon to See it..in the end its just a giant whole in the ground...

Do you know LA and Detroit...are neck n neck for the most major Race RIOTS in the united state... Race riots son... So.. EVERBODY and thier mother says detroit is a hole...even people in MIchican..but You fools in Cali..correct that.. you fools in LA COUNTY think your dont stink..its so bad..that all the rich white peole have move to Oroange COunty..a whole other COUNTY mofos.. your opionions have verry litte to do with facts...

Ok go to SF Sand Diego.. and askthose peole..Hey I'l give you a million bucks if you'd move to LA.. What deal.. It shouldn't be turned down..but I'm sure alot of people would...

    THAT PLACE...
Much better than living in a city where the most interesting thing to do is jack off all over yourself, go to the Mall of America, or eat yellow snow.

I went to LA this summer. Not to shabby. I just don't know why they're going to spend billions of dollars on and underground subway. A friend is going to move out there in November or December, so I'll be visiting much more often.

The MEDIAN housing cost in LA is nearly 400k that means that a person or household need to earn 160k a year to JUST afford a 400k mortgage..

The Median Household income for California is 74k.. That means that the majority of people living in your state can't afford a house in LA.. Now lets go to Watts..or Compton..you name it... How many Black people can earn that amount of money?

    I'm out of touch..

Your out of your mind..but that goes hand and hand with the outragouse statements Laker Fan makes...

No basis in Fact.. In reality.. in the existence of the universe they just say things and because they say them..

    Then by god..

    its true..
LOL. Median home price is about $360k in LA county, and if the person has decent credit (>=700), makes a decent down payment (maybe $20G), doesn't get suckered into an ARM, then the household is looking at spending less than $25G a year on that $340G 30-year mortgage even if he doesn't shop around and ends up paying 6% interest. A lot of money, but LMAO at the idea you have to pull $160G a year to pay $25G.

Damn, $400K for houses, those were the days. I live in a mining town when im not at uni, and the average 3 bedroom 1 bathroom house goes at around $800K - $1M. If you want one on the beach (a ty beach by the way) you have to pay upwards of $1.5M. This is all for just your basic house.

And the town is nothing but a working town - nothing really to do in terms of social activity.

    Its crazy.

again your cypering is all off 25g is the mythic number your discounting property taxes.. do you know how much those are in California..
Property tax on a $360000 house in LA county is about $4300. That's offset and then some by the tax credit you get from the federal government, cutting about $20G off your taxable income (25% on $54G).

    no you don't then insurance.. your 25 g is mor like 35 or 40 g wich is 34000 a month which is 40 k a year..
So you're paying $15G/yr in insurance? Now I can see why you're such a miserable .

now if the median income for the state is 75k then they can't afford that mortgage already... so double that 160 at 45 percent tax rate..
Um what? Double the income so he's now paying 36% fed, 9% state? I guess it is convenient so the family just misses out on that nice tax break on the home.

you state taxes 88 k a year gross income which is about half of that hosing obligation.. now food..now cars..now add healt insurance..
You state taxes? Why did we double the income again? Why don't you throw in a sick grandma and maybe a nasty criminal case too?

    now food..now cars..
Cars? How many brand new cars do you want? How about Laker season tickets too?

    now add healt insurance..
He's pretty ed on that unless his employer is giving him something decent. Welcome to America.

    and that using YOUR figure..
My figure is pretty easy to calculate; annuities aren't exactly like solving PDEs.

and MEDIAN is not an average there are more homes more expensive than that..
It's like you don't even understand what a median is. Averages are skewed by outlier samples... i.e., the fact that the Hiltons live in a giant mansion in Hollywood Hills doesn't have a whole lot to do with the price a typical (i.e., median) home fetches in the valley.

My aunt has a ol hose in redondo OLd and its on the books for 700k..
No a house on the far west side of town near the Pacific is far more expensive than one in the city itself. Who would have predicted that?

Just stay up there in your wintery tomb and play dolls in your igloo. All cities have their issues including yours. Look at you; you still live with your parents.
