    Which question?

What Obama has accomplished or the silly question you posed?
you don't have to feign ignorance. you're the real thing.

now.....run along and create something. it's the only way you'll understand.

Obama's signature achievement has been the stimulus bill although most of the nation doesnt believe it is working. A year from now (when the economy is in much better shape) things might be different.

The Cash for Clunkers has been a moderate success.

We've also pulled out of all major cities in Iraq and substantially increased our numbers in Afganistan.

Does this mean that Obama has shown any kind of leadership? No. Do I believe all these things would have happened if Bush was still in office? Yes.

he has continued on with the same neoliberal economic policies that initiated with carter and took off under reagan. people who think that there are stark contrasts in the economic agendas of the presidents over the past 3 decades are stretching.

Well, we'll see next year then, if this qualifies as an achievement.

The Cash for Clunkers has been a moderate success.
Only a socialist would consider the Cash for Clunkers redistribution plan a success. They basically took $3 billion of our dollars and subsidized private purchase of cars.

Not everyone needs a new car. I could use some of that money for a new refrigerator though.

We've also pulled out of all major cities in Iraq and substantially increased our numbers in Afganistan.
With the same DefSec and under pretty much the same time frame as the previous administration.

Does this mean that Obama has shown any kind of leadership? No. Do I believe all these things would have happened if Bush was still in office? Yes.
I'm not sure about the $787 billion dollar stimulus or the Cash for Clunkers program. Unless of course, the congress overrode the veto.

And, I'm sorry, I didn't read your last statement until I'd written the other stuff.

Yoni without a doubt is 100% bull ter. The idea that he's actually judging Obama objectively at 8 months is kind of hilarious. This thread could have been made last November.
Except that there weren't any "This is the most accomplished administration in modern history" bull to counter then.

    Just providing perspective.

But, you're right, I could have predicted how this administration was going to up. In fact, many of us tried to tell the people in this forum how idiotic he was going to be.

Since when has anyone said this is the most accomplished administration in modern history? Like I said 100% bull .

Obama Claim: Done More in 30 Days Than Other Presidents

The Obama administration is going into tonight's pivotal speech to Congress with the belief that President Obama has accomplished more in the first 30 days in office than any modern president.
    Since then.

    No Problem.

Im trying to be fair. "Cash for Clunkers" was desiged to get people to buy cars which it HAS done. Does this make it fair? No. I agree, its extremely unfair to subsidize a private purchase such as a car.

I agree 100% about the Def Sec and Iraq and Afganistan. He's just continuing what Bush put in place when it comes to foreign affairs.

Also, I guess sotamayor would be an "achievemnt" but no one cares.

...achieved? I mean, we hear this is the most successful administration in the history of the universe but, for the life of me, I can't figure out at what they've succeeded.

That kind of happens when you start a war disguised as going to find weapons of mass destruction, but was really all about the oil

You're an economist, too? An economist who doesn't understand how a tax subsidy works?

If you haven't come to some conclusions about this administration in 8 months, with the speed and heavy handedness they've used, it's because you made up your...for the lack of a better word.....mind....eight months ago, don't you bull .

Obama should ask himself this question. "How many times can I blame Bush for my mistakes"? Seriously, that has gotten really old and annoying. We all know that Bush was a ty president and that he made a lot of mistakes as president but that was the past. Obama is president right now. He needs to accept the fact that Bush is no longer president and that he is responsible for everything happens right now. Obama wanted the power, fame, recognition, perks, and celebrity you get as president but he doesn't want to accept the negative things that come with it like stress, accepting responsiblity for your mistakes or ups, criticism, skeptics, haters, etc...
Bush was one of the most hated and disrespected presidents in American history but he didn't give a . He didn't let people's opinions of him affect him the way that Obama does.
