Please...if the NBA made the San Antonio Fluffy Gophers tomorrow as an expansion team, would you start rooting for them considering the Spurs past success? Would anybody?
Yeah +1 with the Steelers fans. Someone I live with claims to be a Steelers fan, has never lived in Pittsburg, and doesn't even know who James Harrison is.

Nice story. The only part that is true is that the loophole used to select Bird was closed after he signed. That loophole was available to the five teams that selected ahead of Boston in the 1978 draft. The rest of the story is not true.
