Ruh, roh.
Just read about it on Sky Sports breaking news.
He had surgery on his injured foot, and is officially done for the 2009-2010 season.
Ruh, roh.
sad, but not much of a surprise.
Dude that sucks. I hate playing these dudes when they have excuses. Now all year it's going to be " Bu but but but but.. we didn't have our all-star center Yao!" and you know what.. they will be right!!
& walk away from that table stacked with all those millions?
Sure.
Isn't Yao a "communist"? Would he care about the big stack of money? Now the government that sent him over on the other hand might be a little upset at his retirement. I think that they'd treat him like Ol' Boxer from Animal Farm and send him to the knackers. Athletes that retire before they're intended to by their overlords in "communist" countries...
Sucks for him.
I hope he won't be in NBA 2k10, because he's like God in that game
You think China would let him? You already saw how much they gave a about his health in the Olympics.
"If the Rockets can just get T-Mac and Yao both healthy" lives on for at least one more year.
Just tell them that if you put your faith in a player that gets injured EVERY year, that they deserve to be disappointed, and their excuse ceases to be valid
so gortat is on the way right?
Did you see the ratings for some of the players? Only Kobe, Wade, LBJ and CP3 are rated in the 90's. Seems ridiculous. Pau only an 84?

I hope his native country of China is happy now. They practically drove him into the ground by contractually forcing him to play every summer. Playing in the Beijing Olympics was all well, good and understandable. However this dude has played practically year-round, without any extended time off, ever since he came into the NBA.
Where do you go to see the ratings for 2k10?
& a most poignant lesson for all NBA teams to consider. Whistling past the graveyard as Houston did with Yao ended up a catastrophic event.
Good points by the Senor.
Dirk is an 83, Durant is an 82 Devin Harris is an 86![]()
Yep, and Kobe too. This constant Olympic crapola is senseless. Wasting any talent, or the inherent risk of injury whatsoever on these exhibition events is totally absurd & without reason just reckless.
