I'll give them this; at least they're consistent.
Well, I see one possible positive to this: maybe PETA will send some of their model-protesters to the games from now on.

If the animal did die, then it went quickly. PETA needs to pick it's fights better if it wants credibility. When those hicks hung a mama pig on a fork lift until dead (it taking 15 minutes or so), that is cruelty and it's time to step in. Manu swatting a bat dead instantly? The bleeding hearts need to quit smoking pot in the sweat-house, 'cause they're tripping.
Kermit was faster![]()
I'm a pre-mature epostulator.
I posted a comment as well. Lets see if it shows up....
This is dumb, it's just a ing bat and what were they talking about in putting a life in danger?
I bet they call for Manu to be deported and the remainder of Manu's salary for the games he'll miss with the Spurs to go to bats everywhere as res ution.

Next thing you know there will be protesters outside the AT&T Center and he'll get the Mike Vick treatment.
What are you saying ? Farm animals don't also have rights?
This is so silly. PETA is such a joke - it's a stupid little bat. I have a real problem with people who put more value on animals than they do humans.
I don't see them complaint when Odom is doing that cow, isn't that beastiality?
Just swat them out of the way.
Seriously. I guess it takes all kinds. The response was more assinign than the action itself. Ginobili just swatted the bat down. He didn't kill it nor had intention to do so. And what if the bat landed on somebody? I guess to these people it would be OK to have human life in jeapordy more so than this single animal who got released anyway after the incident.
Me too. Except for the "stupid" part. Unless if you meant that you find that other people found it "awesome, great or even funny" in which case I agree. For me it's just something uncommon that happened. What I did find funny though was how Dejuan Blair (I think) jumped away from it in fear.![]()
It was funny. Indeed. there was no intention to hurt or cruelty from manu, he just wanted to let the game be played. the situation was funny.
The stuff like "the legend grows" that you see all over the place, here in ST, on the net or from some journalists, and even from pop or tony in interviews, is a little bit too much tough.
but that was definitely funny and really nothing stupid or nasty from manu.
PETA doesn't do this cause they actually care about people slapping bats out of mid-air...they make outrageous statements so that they're constantly on the public conscious. It keeps them relevant.
You french need a sense of humor.
