As long as you have the basics.... most important, in order.

    1. Protein (Consume 1g of protein for 1g of body weight MINIMUM if you want good gain)
    2. Creatine (Make sure you ALWAYS cycle off after a dose, so your body stays 'natural')

After these two you start to get into your hardcore region IMO.

    3. Nitric Oxide
    4. Test Booster

Basically nitric oxide is a mental focus, energizer. It makes you go nuts in the gym if you take it the right way . Sometime im there for 2 hours, and i just dont wanna leave. It makes you go harder for longer.

Test booster, i probably wouldnt touch if im just starting.

This guy knows what he's talking about. Protein plus a multi-vitamin are numero one and two. MV you can get a more all around one or you can just use the mens one a day or whatever-they don't make a huge difference but just as long as your getting necessary vitamins. Protein is essential-that is all im taking right now with an NO product. Take it as soon as you can after your workout-i take a few scoops about 50g. You can take one before also, i dont usually. Creatine is next-it does work as others said its only for glamour-well yes true if you do it the wrong way and do it for a few weeks just to put a little water in your muscle. If you order say 40 servings you should take one a day (5g), then you can keep going on it for i prefer 2 months then take a few weeks off it but keep working out. You won't lose it if your consistent. And it DOES make you lift more trust me-if helped me a ton when i plateau'd at certain weights.

As for beyond that like mystar said NO is good if you feel you need a little energy before your workout and gives you good endurance throughout. Do not even try a test booster-really really bad idea-not needed at all-i strongly advise to stay away.

Really just remember the main things are good food, water, and consistency in the gym with a good workout plan. These are all SUPPLEMENTS for a reason-they are not miracles and hard work is the way to get to where you want. Me personally I just take protein and a MV right now-that's really all you need imo, but creatine does help, just stay consistent with it and use the advise above.

Also, for you guys that do buy supplements, don't go to a gnc store haha. I used to all the time and get RIPPED by their overpriced . I'm not pushing this site but its what i use and holy if you want to know anything about anything to do with bodybuilding/workouts/supps you can find in on the forums or in the articles-its where i learned everything i know. And the store, wow, you'll get stuff that is like half as cheap than at a gnc store-i recommend ordering from there.

    Bodybuilding.com

As for protein like mystar said
ON 100% gold whey is great, gaspari myoplex

Im really not a calorie counter which a lot of "hardcore" guys are. I just make sure to cut out the little things. I try to just snack on turkey/1 % milk during the day between meals in addition to protein shakes. I usually have turkey/chicken sandwiches and cut out things like mayo, sauces/ranch/etc. I still drink on some weekends (bad, ha, but idc), eat steaks/pizza just in moderation. I do check nutrition content on most foods to make sure the cals from fat arent much over 25% of the total cals. But overall im just in kind of a maintenance stage and trying to gain weight slowly, while cutting fat slowly. Seriously if you just take out the little things that are bad you can improve your diet a lot.

Thanks, ive never heard of it though. Who is it by?

Im in Australia, so alot of our is watered down compared to your stuff. Even basic NO products like NO Xplode has some of the more potent stuff taken out of it.

Ive been told the best one here is PowerFULL by UPS Labs. What do you think of that one?

No , its crazy how much difference it can make. I use to be skinny as and always had a six pack no matter what i ate and drank (chocolate, pizza and soft drinks etc...), but since i started going to the gym and gaining muscle ive started to lose my definition in my ab region. In the last couple of weeks, ive started to cut out a little bit of soft drink and chocolate, and ive already noticed a difference in my abs. I still eat pizza and chocolate and drink coke now and then, but cutting even a little bit out makes a difference.

    Alcohol is the worst though

Tequila is actually okay though. Beer is the thing that messes up any diet regime.

Test booster, i probably wouldnt touch if im just starting.
I've tried tons of different supplements and all of them seem to yield different results:

    For a pre-workout drink I've tried:
    1) No-Xplode (Blue) - It is probably my favorite; however, it will make you go to the bathroom within 10 minutes of drinking it, but you will have super energy and great concentration at the gym. The taste is actually pretty good, but the more you take it the less energy you will receive b/c your body will get use to it.
    2) SuperPump 250 (Blue) - This is a less intense "No-Xplode." What i mean by less intensive is it doesn't make your stomach hurt as bad. I acutally just ordered some more of this, because I wanted to cycle off of No-Xplode for a while. It also tastes real good.
    3) Controlled Labs White Flood (Lemonade) - The first time I took this I felt like a super hero, but within a week it's effects on my body we minimal. Also, as you get to the bottom of your drink it tastes like pure metal which was pretty disgusting. I used 1 tub and never bought again.

As far as creatine I stick with Amplified Creatine 189 (Creatine Hydrochloride). It is actually a new creatine developed by GNC and it doesn't force your body to retain as much water as creatine monohydrate. My goal was to become more lean and strong without looking puffy and it worked pretty well although I did notice some water retention. Also, once I started taking this stuff I began to lift tons more weight than previously. There is also creatine EE that is very effective, but it tastes like death (LITERALLY!!!). I've tried all of these at one point or another.

As far as after-workout drinks I have had the best results with:
    1) Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 (Banana or strawberry) - A great mix of everything your body needs to recover including tons of amino acids and 60g of protein isolate per serving. Yes it is expensive but you tend to get what you pay for in the world of supplements. It doesn't taste great but it is much better tasting than other protein mixes I've had.
    2) Afterglow (Mixed fruit???) - This post workout drink was really expensive and it worked; however, Wheybolic Extreme works a lot better. The greatest thing about this drink was that it was a tasty treat, but it only contained 20-25g of protein per serving which clearly wasn't enough. I think the two things went hand-in-hand.

Quick Note: If you take any of these supplements make sure you drink tons of water. If you don't these supplements can and will mess with your head. If you are looking to get cut you're best bet is to "bulk" up first by consuming tons calories and protein while spending all your time on weights. When doing weights make sure you concentrate on core exercises. After you reach a good size/build you're next step is to cut your weight (decrease your bodyfat %) by sticking to a strict diet, doings tons of cardio, and lifting less weight more times. I used hydroxycut hardcore during my cutting stage and it definately worked; however, this stuff is pretty much poison for your body and I would not recommend it.

    Good luck.
