Such an athlete as Lebron is, I think could make it in almost any sport. Maybe not just as great as he is in basketball, but still be a average pro.

Guy is a physichal speciment.... he could be one of the best players in sports like handball, football, rugby and all sorts of diferent sorts where the combination of speed/strength/skill is in there. (also being tall)

Marcus Pollard had a 13 year NFL career and didn't play college football. He played basketball at Bradley. He had a very good NFL career without playing any college football. And, Marcus Pollard isn't anywhere the athletic freak LeBron is. It's not as outlandish a comment as you think. Football isn't the skill required sport baseball is. LeBron already has the tools to be an effective football player, running, jumping, strength, agility, catching the ball (if he were to be a WR or TE). LeBron might be crazy but his comment here isn't far fetched at all.

Basketball players as a goup are probably the finest natural athletes in the world. They have size, speed (especially in short bursts)great hands, eye/hand coordination, leaping ability, etc.

Some basketball players-- and even track stars-- with virtually no football experience have made it in the NFL. I can call to mind 3 that played with the Cowboys--Pete Gent who was a wide receiver, Cornell Green who was an All-Pro at Cornerback and Bob Hayes.

I don't think many would make it at any of the interior line positions, but they could be formidable at tight end, wide receiver or some of the defensive back positions, providing of course that they'd be willing to take the pay cut along with some hits.

if you are really good at a sport like bball, chances are you will be good at other sports

Why not? The Browns back in the '70s and '80s had a receiver named Dave Logan who was drafted by the NFL, NBA (Kansas City Kings) and MLB (Cincinnati Reds.) If Dave Logan was good enough to be drafted into the NBA, and presumably play in the NBA, LeBron is probably good enough to play in the NFL.
