Reid's statement is a logical outcome of political correctness.
You can take me out of that sentence because, I was actually talking about what Reid was trying to say and asking the board what a better choice of words would have been since he's only copping to a poor choice of words.
But, thanks for making the point that Reid is a racist. You're right.
Reid's statement is a logical outcome of political correctness.
what was he trying to say yoni?
I think I posted that earlier. It appears to me that he was trying to say Obama is electable black person because he's light-skinned and doesn't sound black. I left off the end of the quote where Reid apparently says Obama does this (not sounding black) at will.
What do you think he was trying to say?
And, if I'm correct, what would have been a better choice of words since he's only copping to a poor choice?
Maybe some black guy yelled at him at a gas station.
I included your name because it seemed that you were baffled to how else Reid couldve worded it a different way. Because why bother ask a stupid and obviously ignorant question if you already knew the answer?
I apologize if I read too much into it then.
It was, in fact, rhetorical.
Reid saying it was a bad choice of words doesn't answer the obvious question of what words, exactly, he would have chosen to say what he was saying.
Articulate and well-spoken are the accepted euphemisms, I believe.
H/T, Chumpy. The conversation came back around to it.
well, Reid should thank his lucky stars he's not a republican
Reid is not going to be re-elected anyway so who cares.
Joe Biden had his own "articulate, well spoken" gaffe during the campaign. Obama apparently got over it.
exactly
Actually, if I were Republican I would want Reid to stay. IF he leaves, a competent Democrat may take his place
Sen. Clinton's gaffe ("Mahatma Gandhi ran a gas station in Missouri") seems more like a misfired joke than an intended slight, but Biden's (''you cannot go to a dunkin donuts or 7-11 without having a slight Indian accent") seems more like a jack-assed and socially awkward, sociological observation.
Democrats can be racist too. Shocking!
Reid is the left's Trent Lott.
Shall we invite them to a get together and roll a grenade in the room?![]()
I like how he felt the need to Barrack Obama. As if only Obama deserves an apology when you claim a black man can win only if he's "light skinned".
Senator Cornyn
2007-2008 Based on a point system, with points assigned for actions in support of or in opposition to National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's position, Senator Cornyn received a rating of 28 percent.
Senator Reid
2007-2008 Based on a point system, with points assigned for actions in support of or in opposition to National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's position, Senator Reid received a rating of 90 percent.
The source of these ratings is Project Vote Smart.
Project Vote Smart collects performance evaluations from special interest groups who provide them, regardless of issue or bias. If you have any comments concerning performance evaluations or know of a group that provides ratings not included here, please contact us at [email protected].
Keep in mind that ratings done by special interest groups can be biased. They frequently do not represent a non-partisan stance. In addition, some groups select votes that tend to favor members of one political party over another, rather than choosing votes based solely on issues concerns.
There is no listing of specific criteria. This ranking tells us just about nothing.
Of course the NAACP is biased. The ratings tell you who they think voted in favor of their agenda.
So, as I said. It tells us basically nothing. Ok then. I could've grokked the NAACP's opinion without a "poll".![]()
Its not a poll. They mean exactly what they're supposed to mean: Who votes in favor of the agenda of the NAACP.
Look, its not my fault you don't understand the purpose of interest group ratings and how they are supposed to be used, but that doesn't make them worthless. So next time you guys want to about career enders and how racist democrats are maybe you should think about how actions speak louder than words.
I supposed the NAACP could be giving the GOP bad ratings simply because they're mean but somehow I doubt that's the case.
Us guys? ROFL.![]()
