The trade deadline, as I recall it, still ends at 3 PM ET today... I still think D. Morey has something else that is up his sleeve....
Who knows? Everything we though has been nothing but a smokescreen for a different deal. Hopefully we can get Jordan Hill from NY and make it a 3 team trade because we needs bigs more than ever now.

As usual, Timvp has away of saying it exactly as it is. We traded the heart and soul of the Rockets away today.
I'm sorry but that might be the most ridiculous thing ever posted on ST. Has Rocket Fan not watch Hilton Armstrong play? He might be the worst player in the NBA. He's not going to be starting for the Rockets. Once his contract runs out, he'll be out of the NBA. Armstrong was thrown in the deal just to match salary.
Overall, it wasn't a horrible deal for the Rockets. Martin is a damn good scorer who, if healthy, gives the team the first option the Rockets desperately needed. Like I said earlier, adding Martin also likely makes Ariza much better.
But this isn't any type of steal. Landry is a fantastic role player. He likely won't blossom into a star or anything but he's easily the best bench bigman in the league. He was instrumental in the Rockets staying afloat and provided a lot of that heart and grit that made the team overachieve.
If Martin stays healthy, if Ariza shines in a complementary role and if the Rockets can find a quality big to replace Landry, this trade could turn out to be a good one. But it's pretty risky and, no, Armstrong isn't that quality big

We I first saw news of this I didn't realize Landry was involved in the deal. Landry's departure is definitely going to hurt the Rockets in the frontcourt. Martin's good, but he's fragile.

Too bad it wasn't Lowry the Rockets gave away. Now that would be rapage. Martin has been terrible this year btw.
I'll take his 21.0 PPG....This is for now, and the long run.....Plus, there is another deal in the works
I actually like this trade for the rockets, especially if they can snag Jordan Hill from the Knicks to replace (well.... lol) Landry
Maybe this deal explains why they are interested in Tyrus Thomas, but still...
I haven't seen Kevin Martin play once this season, and I know he's taken a hit in the efficiency department, but he does have the ability to be an elite scorer in this league. Those 25 ppg players are hard to come by, and it is something we have really wanted to have beside Yao. I hear KMart loves to play for Adelman, so hopefully he can get back to what he was once doing for him.
This deal could turn out to be very good for us if Martin produces what he's capable of producing. That said, I still feel like I'm dreaming when I think about the fact that Landry isn't a Rocket anymore. He's probably the last one on the roster I wanted traded.

It should be noted that Landry has struggled the last dozen or so games. Now that defenses have really focused on him, he hasn't produced nearly as much as he was earlier in the season. His defensive rebounding isn't all that, and I would admit to us Rocket fans probably over valuing him. But still, I want him back so bad.

Stop hating on Kevin Martin man, he's one of the most underrated cats in the game. And he's one of my favorite players as well, I don't think the Rox should have given up Landry but I think this trade will work out fine for Houston.
