I know. Doc Rivers is way better.
WTF
While he has benefited from coaching HOF's, I don't think he is overrated
He's probably the best coach at dealing with superstar egos and managed to keep Rodman in check. But that said, all his wins came having the best players in the league on his teams. But coaches on the teams he took over basically had the same players and failed to deliver (Doug Collins, Del Harris), so he's good at something.

No, no, no.
This isn't a "Phil Jackson is a bad/subpar coach" thread.
This is Phil Jackson is the most overrated coach in NBA history.
Big difference. Anyone thinking this guy is some kind of GOAT coaching god is ing insane.
He can't be worse than KC Jones
Then this thread doesn't need to be discussed.
Come at me bro.
I'm not your bro, chap.
Then you can let it die.
The facts just needed to be said. He's the most overrated coach in NBA history.
Now back to breakfast.
Agreed - when he doesn't have a team stacked with talent like a prime Jordan/Pippen/Rodman or a prime Shaq/Kobe/Gasol; he's a first round exit.
131-92 in Game 6 of the Boston /LA Finals agrees.
Come at me.
Sorry, I don't want to have sex with you.
I agree, to say Phil Jackson is the greatest coach of all time is absurd. He has 10 rings with the help of GOAT. I always say that you can either praise the coach or the player you can't do both. To say Jordan is the GOAT and Phil Jackson is the greatest coach of all time can't happen together because the success of one person results in another. To say coach Jackson was the best coach of all time is degrading the status of Jordan and we all know that Jordan, Shaq and Kobe were the real factors for the Bulls and Lakers not Jackson.
My choice for GOAT coach would have to be the one who did the most with less. Some that come in mind is Larry Brown, Lenny Wilkins, Chuck Daly, Don Nelson and others, those who have less to work with and still come up big. I think rings shouldn't be a factor for coaches.
Lets see Jackson try to coach the Nets and see how well he does....

When you have a young team, the team gets better every year with experience, who knows, Doug Collins would have probably won a le that year.....
How can the GOAT coach be someone who is clearly suffering from dementia?
This mother er? This is your GOAT? This is your hero?In one breath, Jackson acknowledged the defensive shortcomings of the 14-year veteran. In the other breath, he stuck up for Fisher's steady hand on the court.
"We function so much better with Derek on the floor as an offensive team that it's very important for him to be out there," Jackson said Friday. "He has all the knowledge that's necessary for a lead guard. He knows how to keep our guys in what we want to get done out there on the floor. It's very important, and we actually talked a little bit [Thursday] about that, in supporting him in situations where defensively he may be playing back-to-back games or may be overmatched in a certain situation."![]()
That's insane. Rings shouldn't count for players either then. No one player wins a ring on their own.
