If you get waived from this Kings team, then you really suck...
Well, to be fair, it didn't stop the Spurs from acquiring such a player just last year.

exactly just because a player is waived doesn't mean they suck, just means the team doesn't have room for them and/or their contract. Some teams also want to give said player a chance at the playoffs by waiving them before march 1st

The only reason Bogans is our starting SG is that Pop needs to play the other SGs at SF and PF.

Nope. I'm already in lotto mode and I like that freshmen kid from Marshall named Whiteside 7 footer and he's being compared to the Admiral.

    Yup.

He was involved in the Miller-Salmons trade, IIRC, and was waived by the Kings.

    ROFL

I wouldn't take a healthy Larry Hughes in his prime right now, even for the minimum.

so a lot of posters here would take Bogans over Hughes, ofcourse Hughes isn't the greatest player ever, but he is a huge upgrade over Bogans, if we are not going to get defense from that position might as well add a little more offense
True, but if you want to get more offense at Bogan's spot, you start Mason or Manu or Hill (must...not ...type..."Finley"...here...!!) and sit Bogans. No reason to go out and hire one more extremely limited 2-guard.

In any case, it doesn't matter. Getting Hughes would just be rearranging deck chairs at this point...

is this thread about Bogans, is it about Bogans ability to shoot but to answer your question why add another when you have one on payroll and you're trying to cut cost already, he doesn't make an already guard heavy team better so why bother

the thing is adding another guard even for a 10 day contract would give Pop a chance to see what he has, standing Pat now keeps Bogans in the starting lineup, and that won't work in the playoffs (and I still believe they can make the playoffs)

If the Spurs are going to stand pat, I hope Bogans is inactive for the playoffs because he doesn't help on either side of the court.

Again if there is a player out there that is waived that would potentially moved Bogans out of the rotation, hopefully the Spurs do it

As I remember, Hughes was a good defender and was among the league leaders in steals (though I could be wrong). He's got good height at that 2-3 position and would play good defense there.

No he can't shoot. But that's not what we need right now.

It is sad to see, us talking about signing people, when we haven't seen what we have on the bench.

The only person we need to add to our sideline in the next 9 days is Avery Johnson. As long as we have Pop running this team without Tony Parker I don't expect to win another game this year.

Tony Parker is the only good thing we have going for us. I say that, because he is the only one smart enough to freeze Bonner out of the offense. Watching TP play with Bonner is funny as , he doesn't even look at him. He only passes him the ball when accidentally picked up his dribble and then he runs right back to him to get it back before Bonner can do anything stupid or goofy.

I feel so sorry for TD and TP, I wouldn't pick Bonner to play a YMCA pick up game, I would probably fake an injury if I had to start games with him.

I have no problem with your statement but for me making the playoffs was never the goal and if that's all we do this season, I'd rather we didn't make the playoffs at all. I want to contend or just go for lottery

Some of our best games this year came with Tony aka "French Connection"... While i think also TP is also to blame for some of the issues from other players he has been a blessing for he team and franchise.

What issues are you referring to???

I don't think TP has ever been our the problem. We need TP to be a scoring threat ALL the time.

If we could get stops on the defensive end we would be fine. I don't think TP is our issue at all. There is nothing about TP's game that I don't like. There isn't a team in the NBA that wouldn't start him. Except mayby Utah and NO.
