and he will automatically give up 30 million over the life of the contract by signing with new york or any other team not named the cavs. also, lebron already has close to a quarter billion in endorsements.

    just saying.
And, you could instantly double those endorsements dollars if LeBron played in New York. Giving up 30 million over the course of his contract is peanuts when he'd be making so much more beyond his NBA salary by moving to New York. His NBA salary isn't what's going to make LeBron as rich as he possibly can be.

I'm not saying he'll go to the Knicks, but saying he'd be giving up 30 million in NBA salary is pretty irrelevant when you consider the potential in other dollars from endorsement and entertainment opportunities.

    Just saying.

you know what I am talking about. All I am saying is that Lebron will entertain New York. You know it. I know it. Cleveland knows it. The entire coutnry knows it.
Sure he will. But there's a big difference between entertaining an offer and taking it.

Yet the tone of your comment suggests that the latter won't happen.
    Would I be correct?

I guess I don't blame you. Lebron splits and Cleveland will fall below mediocrity. Lower than Whale poop, and that Joe, is as low as it gets.

Ah, what the heck. Cleveland has been through much regarding sports teams. No sense in me or anyone raining on your potential "WE WON LEBRON" sweepstakes.

    Good luck.

How much additional money would he make in endorsements by playing in NY than in Cleveland, LA, Miami or New Jersey? Where would that money come from? From New Yorkers buying his stuff instead of Ohioans or whatever they're called? I doubt the difference is significant, to be honest - surely not enough to justify a substantial increase in his endorsements revenunes.

You would be. I've still yet to hear an actual basketball reason why he would go to New York.

And if you think it concerns me, you're wrong. We've done everything we can do. If he leaves anyway, there was nothing we could have done to begin with. So there's no sense in worrying about it.

Heat are '95 percent' sure Wade will re-sign this summer
    By Trey Kerby

I recently attended a taping for Rick Reilly's "Homecoming" featuring Dwyane Wade(notes). At every commercial break, someone from the crowd would yell about Wade coming to play for his hometown Bulls. Every time, he would just smile.

I've got bad news, Bulls fans, it sounds like it ain't happening.

"The bottom line is he has publicly and privately said that this is where he wants to be," [Heat owner Micky] Arison said before Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. "I believe him. I'm 95 percent sure that he would be here next year. You can never be 100."

Of course, Arison is in the midst of signing up season ticket holders for next year, so he's going to want to paint a pretty picture of the upcoming season. But there are a lot of reasons Wade wouldn't want to leave Miami.

As Ira Winderman details, if the Heat can snag a good free agent this summer, they'll have a decent nucleus that can compete in the East. Plus there's no income tax in Florida. Oh, and it's Florida. The appeal is pretty obvious.

But don't worry, Chicago. Brad Miller(notes) is going to play forever. That's an OK consolation prize in my book.

Related: Dwyane Wade, Brad Miller, Milwaukee Bucks

LeBron needs to force a SnT to Houston; he can get his whole clothing brand in China. I can see it now.

I'm far from convinced New York is getting someone besides a Rudy Gay or Carlos Boozer-type. When was the last time that franchise did anything right, including pick up a marquee free agent?

The confidence so many people seem to have in the Knicks is mystifying to me.

+1, and why would anyone go to play in a system that is designed to play ZERO defense?

There will be big names in NY next season..only an idiot would pass up playing in the greatest city on the planet..

    Hopefully it's Lebron..

At least you are honest about being a bandwagon fan now. I'm glad you finally came out of the closet.

I like how people base off how the cavs do in the playoffs will determine Bron's future. He is staying a Cav regardless. He isn't passing up a max contract. No way no how. His best shot for rings is to stay a Cav no matter how this season ends.

Also Lebron isn't going to a city where he will be 2nd to the Yanks. Bron would get mad love in New York but the Yanks will still be #1.

I thought that if Lebron were to go to NY it would be via the nets who then move to Brooklyn.

    not the knicks.

If these guys truly cared about championships, they could get as many as they wanted. Lebron, Wade, and Bosh are all friends and could easily arrange to be on the same team this off-season, but it would require them to accept something less than a max contract. Add in a defensive center and PG and that starting five would steamroll any team in the league. New York has the cap space to make this happen.

But honestly, the only one of the three I can see switching teams for sure is Bosh. Lebron stays in Cleveland if they win a championship. Wade likes Miami.

This is what I don't get. Why are there always these conditions placed on LeBron staying with Cleveland, yet with Wade it's a foregone conclusion? How do we know Wade loves Miami so much he'll stay regardless of how the team performs?

Has anyone considered that maybe- gasp- LeBron likes playing in Cleveland? I know, I know, it's a stretch, but who knows? Maybe he does.

Bosh is the least likely IMO..because he's one of the long list of A+ free agents lining up to play in New York!
