One thing these stats show is that

    1. Kobe is the least scared to take the last shot

    2. He has done it the most times as well

Yes, he may not have the highest percentage, but he has delivered the most times. I mean seriously, Jason Terry has a higher percentage but would you rather have him taking the last shot than Kobe?
I agree 100%. We should have a statistic of the last two minutes of the game and the fourth quarter in general. This will give us a better view of clutch players.

Before this year, Kobe's clutch shooting hasn't been all that great, but many of the clutch shots he had made before this season were very memorable. Part of what brings Kobe's clutch shooting down especially in previous seasons was the fact that he didn't trust teammates and he would make an extra pass even if the play called for it. I would bet money on the fact that Kobe would by far have the most clutch shot attempts against double and triple teams and the most fading away from those doubles and triples, heck sometimes with all five guys on defense focused on him. Kobe isn't scared to fail. This season, Kobe has been phenomenal in late game clutch situations. But this season hasn't been any different in terms of his confidence and his approach to those situations. He's always wanted the basketball in clutch situations. Not until the last couple seasons since the threepeat run has Kobe been also willing to make the right play in those situations.

I would bet many of those other guys with better clutch shooting primarily shoot fairly open shots or shooting against one-on-one man defense or drives to the basket.

You can hate on Kobe for a lot of things. I think it's pretty stupid to call him out when it comes to being clutch though.
    What he said ...
Kobe is like any hreat player Jeter, Brady no one is clutch everytime but if there is ONE guy you DON'T want taking that shot against your team late it's Kobe ...this seasons resume 6 of 10 or whatever i 'll take that ...

Kobe haters want to find anything to reduce his impact on the game.

Yes he misses some, but like many people have mentioned its that fearlessness to make mistakes that makes him so much greater than other players in the game.

5 seconds to go...no one else in this game (right now) who I would give the ball to for the game.

Kobe shoots a good percentage (46%) and scores the most points. Honestly, it's pretty close throughout the league. Most teams have someone that shoots 44-50% with the game on the line. Statistically Lebron or Melo are the best, but you need the whole picture to choose. Kobe is great at drawing fouls down the stretch and he makes them at a very high clip (92%). He has a lot of game winners too. Lebron has a lot of turnovers and melo/bron clank more FTs than Kobe in the clutch.

Don't really need numbers to tell you to give it to kobe though, just watch the games.

exactly. Ive seen Dirk come throught plenty of times in the last few minutes of the 4th (just like last night)...he might miss or not take the game winning shots but he puts his team in the position to keep the game close.

after watching the Magic-Lakers game today. This is why these 10 secs or less stats are meaningless. Kobe hits 2 clutch jumpers less the 30 seconds but misses the one less then 10 secs.

So in other words, he missed the one that mattered.

Kobe shot 3-9 in the last 4 minutes.
The rest of the Lakers went 3-4.

Yet it was Kobe who made the ones to get him there. If he hadn't chucked so many bad shots he probably would have been more efficient (or at the least the Lakers as a team would) and he wouldn't be "there" because probably it would be Orlando the ones desperate to hit 3 consecutive shots in the last 40 seconds.

Really, what's so difficult to understand about this?
