GSP is not one of the sports biggest stars because he is boring. Yes i get that some people did not dig that fight with Hardy but his rep as a fighter who entertains was pretty flawless heading in. You don't draw what he does, having a rep of being a boring un-entertaining fighter..

I think that's the point Dbreiden was trying to make. I think he was trying to say that GSP IS one of the most popular fighters, and that he didn't get that way by being boring.

Hehe, I think the the first sentence you read was worded a bit strange so the message was mixed but dbreiden definitely was saying GSP is a huge draw because he's been a consistently excellent fighter.
This time he got bit by the hype bug in combination with a fighter that didn't care about getting his arms broken.

Eh. You're missing the point. He was always an exciting fighter. Enter the loss to Serra, and he hasn't been the most exciting fighter. Also, GSP promotes the fights the way he is supposed to, usually throwing a line about his standup. Will the fans backlash on GSP? Who knows, he may get multiple reprieves, but that doesn't mean he hasn't turned boring. That doesn't mean that he won't start losing his drawing power. If you disagree, okay, but you can't dismiss that he has stylistically changed since his loss to Serra.

The sport in general is made to entertain, and people are fans of a specific sport because it entertain him/her with everything it gives.
MMA is mixing martial arts so fighters train to be the most effective fighters they can be, and they try to be effective while fighting and using martial art style(s) to be sucessfull.
If nobody saw how many things were happening in GSP vs HArdy fight he can hardly be named a fan of this sport.
