What people really don't grasp is that if Manu leaves in the FA, then the Spurs most probably will be in full rebuilding mode. They will be over the cap, with only the MLE/LLE to spend and paper thin at too many positions

There is NO WAY the Spurs can field a contender team w/o Manu, and they will not find a Manu Ginobili for the MLE. Even if they hypothetically do, they won't be able to address any of their needs, and the team will remain as weak as it is now in the absolutely miraculously best case scenario (quite improbably actually). The future of Duncan is tightly related to Manu.
There is no "probably" about it. If Manu departs, the Spurs WILL be in rebuilding mode - whether they choose to admit it or not.

That is so funny Manu signing for a team that sucks and moving his wife and two new born kids to the big city. Never going to happen........All Manu wants is for the Spurs to show respect and to show they have faith in him as a player. If they show that and give him a fair contract he will retire a Spur!

If I'm the Spurs I offer Ginobili a front-ended deal starting at around 10-11 million for 3-4 years.

Manu is selfless. He is driven to help his team win. He works hard on every possession. He thinks defense is at least as important as offense. He doesn't care about individual awards or stats. He certainly doesn't care about starting or minutes or "whose team is this?". And, most important, he is a winner.

Therefore, he's completely disqualified from being a New York Knick. They'd have to give the entire organization a brain transplant if they wanted him to play there.

actually the knicks have always been known for their tough defense and blue collar hard working mentality. just not the current group of knicks(most of them will be gone anyways).

i am sure manu wouldnt mind playing in the best arena in the largest city in the world and try restore that team back to what it once was . it would greatly improve his legacy imo.

I am fully aware of the Knicks history, I was a Knicks fan back in the 60s/early 70s when they won their championships. They were a beautiful team with an amazing organization then. Don't get me started, I would go on for pages.

The Knicks organization today has absolutely zero in common with that of 40 years ago. From the owner on down, it stinks. One player is not going to change that. The history of this league is full of outstanding players on bad, losing teams. They are still bad and they still lose.

If there is going to be a rebirth of the old Knicks, they'd have to start by getting a new owner and basically getting rid of the entire management structure and starting over again. D'Antoni isn't a bad coach but he is never going to build a winning team, he's like the current day version of Paul Westphal.

The post gave intoxicating praises of Manu, maybe enough for Donnie Walsh to offer Manu 20 million/year, lol!
