BTW just to clarify again I have both.. but the original topic is so fan boy I had to respond.. Don't really care which is better.. though numbers tell you that the public perfer the 360.
I like my ps3.. it makes a good blu-ray player... unfortunatly that's all I use it for because other than one or two exclusives a year (pretty much The Show and some other game each year) I never touch it other than to put a movie in because every multiplatform game I can buy for xbox and get a better online experience.
See you can debate all you want about exclusives and which system has the better ones.. which all comes down to taste.
But the one thing sony fan boys never try and debate.. and the one thing that truely seperates the 360 from the ps3 is the online experience.
When it comes down to it that is why people tend to perfer the 360.
Actually the numbers indicate that the public massively prefers the Wii over the 360 or Ps3. And since the Wii is nearly worthless as a real gaming console, it invalidates your point here. The public en masse made Britney Spears one of the most successful musicians of all time. Using them as a backing point for having a superior anything is an extremely shaky line of reasoning.
The 360 launched a full year earlier than the Ps3, at roughly 2/3rds the price, with a very good launch lineup. Those reasons, largely moot now, are really the only reason for the disparity in sales of consoles.

True.. I guess basing which is better on numbers isn't the right way to go.. I agree the Wii isn't much of gaming platform and more of a fade.. in that same way though I'm sure many of us that had the cash largly bought the ps3 when if first came out because it was at or near the price of a stand-alone blu-ray player.
Anyways.. to each his own.. this is always a lose lose debate.. I guess the solution to these debates is simple.

All 3 consoles do their own thing very well, that's why I have all 3. I need my Mario, my Bluray and my Halo, so it wasn't an option for me. If you have to choose one, I'd go with the PS3, but thats just because of the bluray.

I bench ~40 pounds more than I weigh, I'm training for a marathon (currently running 7:55 pace over 10 miles), and I totally schooled a 6'8" prep student in basketball yesterday (I'm 5'10"). Got three dates setting up nicely next week, and I'm quite happy with my life. Videogames are just a part of that, but they also provide very adequate stress relief and enjoyment factor.

I dont give a flying what that makes me. I work nearly 70 hours a week running a small business that barely kept its doors open in 2009. What I do with my free time, is my free time, because I dont have very much of it.
I work harder in a day than most of the people you know work in a week.
I kind of think you werent directing the comment at me, but if you were, I dont give a . I sleep 7 hours a night and work ~13 hours a day. What I do with the remaining ~4 hours of this daily life is my God damned business.

I have always been a Playstation guy after my switch from Nintendo. I love my PS3 and my Xbox but would prefer to play my PS3 more. It usually depends on what type of gaming mood I am in.
For FPS I prefer the 360 due to the controller.
For everything else I prefer the PS3.
