You're comparing apples to oranges. Do you know any Kings fans who talks about the Rochester Royals 1951 NBA le?
It's their franchises le, I don't know what they feel or if they hang a banner for it. It's their right. I know Dodger fans are happy with that one le from Brooklyn. I have seen them fly the banner. Unless they have all died, Brooklyn still has plenty of Dodger fans. So, do the Dodger disasters in the World Series against the Yankees when they played in Brooklyn not count anymore, and it's now 2-2 since they moved to LA? Yeah, tell that to a Yankees fan. Giants won nothing in San Francisco, but brought their New York les with them. Willie Mays won a championship in New York and is recognized for it. Ever see that circus catch he made against the Indians? It was in 1954. San Francisco and Mays fans will be happy to tell you about it.

No it really doesn't, he's not talking about les won in another city. He's a fan of the Yankees because they're in New York, and he's talking about les won in New York.
Well, leagues count les won by franchises. I believe the Oakland Raiders count their LA le even though they went back to Oakland.

My argument is similar. A le won before someone is born is still a le, no matter where it was won. It belongs to the franchise. They just weren't around when it was won. Let me attempt to clarify with an example. Say fans of random teams are 31 years old and started watching the NBA at age 10 in 1989:

Bulls fan has seen 6 NBA les.
Lakers fan has seen 4 NBA les.
Spurs fan has seen 4 NBA les.
Pistons fan has seen 3 NBA les.
Rockets fan has seen 2 NBA les.
Heat fan has seen 1 NBA le.
Celtics fan has seen 1 NBA le.

Now, the Celtics fan, for example knows his team has the most les but he hasn't witnessed but one and it sucks. So, he harks back to the history of the franchise for glory, all before he was born let alone a fan, and tries to diminish the Lakers old les. I'd wager back in the 60's you will find Boston newspapers bragging about how the Celtics took over the league lead when they got their 6th championship, wresting it away from the Lakers; who were now playing in Los Angeles. My point is, if the Minneapolis les didn't count and don't belong to Los Angeles, that should have been addressed when they moved. All the record books count them belonging to the franchise. People can disagree with it, and not like it, but the facts say what they say.

And all I know that people in Seattle still claim the 1979 le as their own, for that matter Thunderfan doesn't walk around and say, "1 RING, GOT!"
I could be wrong, but I believe the deal to allow the move to OKC was the team colors, le, and history stay in Seattle. Cleveland Browns did the same thing when their team moved to Baltimore. NBA-Reference.com doesn't agree with me, they list the Sonics in the Thunder history.

I don't care, I find it amusing. The fact they think they were an integral part of the Lakers being a good team is funny enough, them thinking that buying 5 championships from Minnesota is something to be proud of is even funnier. It's the equivalent of someone buying Michael Phelps' 8 gold medals and then bragging about them like whoever bought them won them.
How did they buy 5 les from Minneapolis? The owner moved them west, and again, the nucleus of the team came with them. That's completely different than buying Phelps' gold medals. It was still the same organization and continued to excel. Their home games was the only difference from then on out. Any road game the Lakers played since, including this season, they could be from Timbuktu as far as the host is concerned. It just took another 10 years of Boston dominance before the Lakers could win.

Essentially it's a no win argument. I appreciate your logical input.

I don't mind reading long posts but I don't read long trolling posts. You want to troll, make your points in a short and concise way, unless you're that Indian guy, John Hollinger or that kind of troll.

It seems you Lakers fans are in a very small minority in regards to the point under discussion in this thread though.
Awwww... You read it and you know it.

Who says I am a Lakers fan? I caught you with your pants down about your jealousy of the Lakers and exposed you.

I honestly didn't read it. Jealousy? Go read some stuff about the Celtics vs Lakers so-called rivalry. You can even use the wikipedia.

Bye bye, see you in 22 years.
I understand why you fear so much to play the Celtics that you don't want to see them for 20 years; shows you know the history of your team. Congrats.

Too bad your team didn't show up to play the Lakers when the latter was the better team and won the le by beating the team that beat Boston in the playoffs. Look up, it happened 8 times. That's just as telling as the actual results. Your team is great, just not as dominating as you think. Example, the Spurs and the Bulls are a combined 10-0 in the finals. Why don't they have more les? Because they weren't good enough to get to the finals all those non- le years.

Boston leads the league in les.
Yes they do. How long can they keep the lead? Admit it, the Lakers will probably win 3 les in the next 10-15 years and the Celtics won't win any. What a storied history Boston has had the last 20+ years. Didn't they miss the playoffs 6 years in a row and get bounced in the first round 9 times? Guess what, those days are probably returning.

You're getting silly. Now you're predicting the future?

Bragging about the Minneapolis Lakers wins is just...lame. Slightly ridiculous even. Everybody but Lakers fans agreed with that. Deal with it.

Nice, avoid my question. It hurts, doesn't it?

Old saying: Those that forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

Facts: Clippers usually suck. Lakers usually in contention. Boston 40 years in contention then a complete turnaround. Look like Clippers last 20+ years.

Yeah, I can predict the future with more accuracy than random chance based on the above.

My two sets of grandparents liked the Dodgers and the Yankees back in their day, before Minnesota had a baseball team. They like the Twins too but remain fans of the other teams. Guess what, they recognize all les by both teams. None of them ever lived in New York, Brooklyn, or Los Angeles. They live in Minnesota.

You got exposed because of your fear the Lakers will surpass the Celtics in les. So many of you silly Celtics fans are trying to discredit those les since the Lakers got close.

Face it, you are jealous and envious of the Lakers, and I proved it.
