Mortal Kombat games suck. We know this. It's got absolutely nothing on Street Fighter.

Lets see a remake if killer instinct

I read a while back that microsoft was going to develop KI3 for natal.

    This movie would be cool.

Also I enjoyed Mk2/mk3 but none since then.

Brah, MK the games licked balls. Take away the blood and the fatalities and you have a ty SF2 knockoff that really isn't very good.
And now we know for sure that the poster Anthony Randolph and his alter egos was born after 1989

    Wrong.

People still play this game at a high level years after it came out.

Nobody plays MK anymore because (1) its novelty wore off, (2) the fighting mechanics blow, (3) it's unbalanced (e.g. that Sonya video I posted).
    That is not SFII brah.

Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat both have their place.

MK was ing amazing for its time overall. Fatalities were a game changer. Not to mention the blood and gore itself.

    Anyone saying MK sucked either

    a) is a young punk ass and your opinion is therefore meaningless

    or

    b) did not have enough friends to go to an arcade or skating rink or a mall with to join in on the mad Mortal Kombat action that was going on 24/7 for a good three and a half years straight from MK to MKII

As for the OP, I'd like to see it. I liked the original MK movie. The soundtrack was ing uberly underrated. Orbital, Fear Factory, etc. Hope they hook it up with a bad ass soundtrack again.

i dont know if this is a sneak preview for a game or a movie but anything with the dude who played the spawn is going to suck ass! also, anything where one dude surprises the whole medical field and somehow lives longer than his 2 wk life expectancy and ends up 30 yrs old eating peoples heads is going to surprise everyone! 's weak although it's more professionally produced than any mortal kombat before it which isn't saying much.

This actually looks pretty intriguing. A friend told me that the guy that made this teaser used his own money and everything to make this as a kind've resume to get the directorial job for the would-be movie. Not sure how accurate that is, but...

I did play Mortal Kombat when I was young. I did play Mortal Kombat with other people. Mortal Kombat is badly outdated. It did rely on gimmicks over gameplay.

i THINK Mortal Kombat was the first video game to use real blood, right? im not sure.

it was a big ing deal back then, I remember my parents got me Mortal Kombat for the Sega Genesis and the Sega Game Gear back when it first came out.

Mortal Kombat was seen as the "cooler kids" game compared to Street Fighter 2. plus, MK was newer, since everyone had already played Street Fighter to death.

and that's one thing I think you younger kids missed out on...

before the explosion of home PC's and video game consoles....

you had to go to the Arcade at the mall or someplace to play these new games only AFTER it's arcade run, did you get a home console version on the SNES or Sega Genesis.....

people would crowd around the arcade machines and it was a matter of pride to be the best and get to keep your spot on the machine as you beat all challengers... i once beat 4 guys in a row when i was like 12 yrs old, all of them older than me, felt awesome having so many people watching

I do think Mortal Kombat got stupid once they added too many fatality types... like "Babality" and other garbage.... just became too gimmicky, i stopped playing them after MK3.

Street Fighter 2 and MK ruled the days

you guys remember the Mortal Kombat commercials?

some dude in the street would look at the camera and yell MORRRRTTTAAAALLL KOMMMBAATT

It's an interesting take on the whole thing. Could have done with out the dumbass "Codename:..." garbage where it just sounded so painfully forced to work the character names in. Right around the time I'd start thinking that they had a cool idea on bringing some of these more supernatural characters into the real world they'd awkwardly spit out their name from the game. I'm pretty sure that anyone whose going to bother watching this trailer knows damn well who the characters are. Could have done more subtle things like say, "He doesn't just look like one, the guy's as cold blooded as a reptile," or maybe give Scorpion a scorpion tattoo they can pan onto. I realize the games were never about being subtle but that sort of hamfisted dialogue over like that is a problem in every video game movie.

And they should have killed Stryker instead of Cage. Makes more sense to have a cop undercover and you'd probably get a standing ovation in the theaters when he gets it.

Are you kidding? Cage is so lame.... If the movie sucked, there'd be at least the bright spot of him dying.
Like in MK2 he fortunatelly died in the begining.

Was there a good fighting video game movie other than this really? Well DoA had hot chicks. Didn't like Street Fighter much. And couldn't even finish watching SF: Legend Of Chun Li. I mean Kristin Kreuk narrating??? Are you kidding me? It was like listening someone tell an erotic story, without the erotic story. She'd fit better in a porno or something.

    Hmm... Any other movies?
