so why was Heskey playing? It's sad if england doesn't have strikers behind Rooney.
I know you soccer aficionados will poo poo him, but I like Lalas. He seems to dumb down the game for us newbies new to the game.

That's cuz you guys suck at it. It's not easy to like something you're terrible at
Yeah, It must be a lot of fun to stand still for four straight hours.
i agree soccer is boring, thats why i watched it with the mexican commentators they made the game fun to watch
I disagree Heskey is doing what the coach is expecting from him: being the pivotal piece for opening space for Rooney and the midles and he is doing his job perfectly.
Not forever. Eventually it will be basketball as number one. Especially as smaller nations continue to develop. Soccer was spread as part of English colonization so it was a simple game the entire world was exposed to and could play with minimal, if any, equipment.
But that game is sooooo 1800s. Its just a matter of time. You can already see basketball slowly taking over in parts of Europe and Asia.
Good question. England doesn't have a really good second striker to play with Rooney, but I don't see why Capello wouldn't play Defoe or even Bent. Heskey provides nothing that Rooney can't do as well and better.
Where does Dempsey play in Europe? I like his story, he's from Texas, and is pretty good it seems. Im liking that connection to getting into Soccer![]()
Stephen Stausburgs debut was much more exciting than that lame soccer game we just saw.
sure and one day the Suns will win a![]()
Dempsey is playing for Fulham, a London team.
I bet you never saw an entire Basseball game in your life.
I know you're trying to troll hard, but basketball will never get the popularity of football because basketball has more to do with god given physical ability then skill. Anybody can be amazing at football.
Fulham, a London based club. They reached the final of the Europa League Cup this season.
I absolutely used to love Lalas back in the day: big-ass ginger, with his crazy-ass hair, goatee and watching him attack the net for headers. He was the resident badass. Loved the guy.
Now he's just a ; funny what cutting off the hair and exchanging athletic prowess for talking can do to one's image.![]()
I was actually at game 2 of the 2001 world series of the diamondbacks versus the Yankees.
Randy Johnson pitched a shutout. Matt Williams went deep. Ray Charles sang the national anthem. I taunted the Yankees fans as they left early in the ninth.
That was the best game I ever went to.
lol Green
lol Capello
lol England
And Lalas and Gamboa made a legendary US full-back duo...
I'll just say that the US needs more quality players both in the MLS and overseas.....but Please do some research before spewing bull .
LOL. Basketball isn't anywhere near being number one in the US, let alone number one in the world.
Much as I love it, objectively speaking, it's just not that popular outside the US.
Hmmmmm Fulham.
Research underway on FulhamThanks alot guys! You were really awesome in being patient. YOu guys could've been s and been "bandwagoner" Well technically I am, but hey better late than never!
Will everyone be here for the games tomorrow? I might stay up late to watch haha.
And I'm sure you didn't see all the plays of that game.
Great result, well played match, thank you Clint...from East Texas for the equalizer.
Soccer is gaining in popularity, and the reason it is not more popular is that it simply is not on TV as much as other sports.
Maybe if they put in quarters and timeouts...TVs would be able to get their advertisements in...lol.
