Yes it would still be cheating. This is not debatable. What the do you think a red card represents? You're ejected from the game for unsportsmanlike behavior. Stopping a certain goal with your hands isn't supposed to be part of the ing playbook.

The only thing I'm questioning is the punishment should be more severe. There is no question Suarez cheated.
K, then every team is full of cheaters. What do you think a ref foul call represents? You breaking the rules.

And in that case, cheaters lost today so I guess its all good.

there is a big difference between a red card for using your hands and e.g. intentional injuring someone. even the later happens and I wouldnt call it cheating, but something worse.

Cheating means you're breaking the rules but it also means more than simply breaking the rules. A foul is not cheating and yet its breaking the rules. Doing something secretly and trying to get away with it is what cheating really stands for. That handball was anything but secret.

    ManuManiac;

    Why the hate? u mad?

Cheating is getting away with it like Maradona did.

Suarez was caught and sent off.

Get over it and remember what that the dream case scenario for Uruguay is for winning this cup...
right, so basically the only difference you see between cheating and not cheating is not getting caught...

yeah, Suarez got caught, and he should be suspended for more than one game IMO.

I'm 100% with Manu here... this is like saying going out there and hurting a team's best player on purpose to get him severly injured and out of the game is fair play as long as you get red carded for it

lmao please, if you think the situation is the same, I won't even bother stating why it makes me sick that Ghana lost today
What's the difference? That Suarez did it at the end of the game and Fabiano didn't? Take your homer glasses off and see that they 're the exact same thing. No, actually it isn't 'cause Suarez got penalized, Fabiano didn't. So Fabiano's play is a lot worse. Don't be a hypocrite.

No, because the ing rules say so. I don't understand what exactly you think a red card is. Its punishiment for breaking the rules. All I'm saying is this kind of should just get a one game suspension. Its more serious than that.

To be fair, thats not like fouling a player - its like goaltending and then having the player shoot free throws.
Well, it would be like in football a receiver streaks wide open in the last seconds of a game, has the defender beaten with nobody between him and the goal line and the defender just stretches out and grabs the guy and pulls him down before the ball gets there. It is a foul, will be penalized, stops the guy from a winning score by illegal means, but they don't just give the guy the touchdown. They call the pass interference and the offense gets another chance at a TD.

Ghana had their best PK taker on the line for the win and he choked. Can't go changing the rules because a guy couldn't finish the easiest opportunity he'll ever have to win a game.

Nothing can excuse that choking though, all he had to do was score one penalty.

There's so much fail in this post. It's not like Suarez tried to hide the fact that he touched the ball with his hand. He simply used the last recourse he had.

Every last defender that fouls an attacker and gets a red card is a cheater? No.

A guy that dives in the penalty area and tries to confuse the ref into calling an inexistent foul is cheating.

K, well then every team is full of cheaters because every team breaks the rules every game.

So basically Uruguay being cheaters means nothing because everyone are cheaters.
