If you don't watch it (and can't remember the past), then why make the statement that "Hill shined" and make comparisons to players in this year's Summer League?
Why mention it then?
/thread
i think hill literally made 3 shots out of like 30.
Actually it was 2/25.
You're probably going to need to go back and look at the game logs. Hill was able to get to the rim and wasn't able to score. People were freaking out because they said he needed to develop a finishing move against shot blockers, when all he really needed to learn how to do was draw a foul instead of avoiding contact.
Those of us that said he was a good scorer and it didn't matter if the ball wasn't going in the hole so long as he was learning his new position and showing confidence were right, so I'm not sure how much ridicule there could be.
A suggestion: don't start threads.
my suggestion to u : stop sucking , what kinda makes a screen name chump dumper ing probably pming eric b right now in private
Why are you posting about sucking ?
Do you think about that a lot?
Well that's inappropriate...
I was at that Utah summer league game and had a front row seat. Duncan looked like he'd be a great player but he was in foul trouble, which explains why he didn't score as many as Tag. But everyone could see Duncan with a few games under his belt would be a beast.
Honestly it's not that big of a deal and I'm glad that it turned out that the doubters (however many there were) appear to be wrong since George Hill has turned out to be the better player (compared to Chalmers and CDR). Being a good scorer in college doesn't always translate to being a good scorer in the NBA (in fact, there are many occasions where it doesn't). I remember pages and pages in various threads here on SpursTalk about how Hill was the wrong choice based on his Summer League play - but there were posters on the opposition saying to be patient and that saw the good qualities in the young guard.
Regardless, are we in agreement with debunking the premise of the thread in that good Summer League play doesn't necessarily mean that the player will be successful in the NBA (especially when you are basing your opinion off of the first few minutes of that players very first Summer League game)?
hill was so terrible in summer league we had pop already having to talk to him about getting his confidence back.
parker was the one who had a solid summer league.
anderson may very well not play in the summer league as buford has indicated the #1 priority is getting his hamstring right.
