Replace "Blake'' with ''Fisher'' and the sentence still makes sense. Non-issue
the pisses me off too....![]()
We're not getting Morrow for the balance of the MLE. He's getting tons of looks and a young guy that shoots lights out is going to get WAY more jack than that...especially in light of the frenzy going on right now.
Won't be a problem. We have two 7 footers backing him up. He is also a defensive upgrade over Fisher. We'll be straight.
The best part for me is we finally break the Rose Garden curse.![]()
Good luck with that one!![]()
Nice pickup, lesser starters can thrive in LA because Kobe and Gasol take all the pressure off them.
From Koolaid's under the skirt sources I hear the priority now is unleashing Sasha so they can obtain Raja if he won't accept the 1.8 of the MLE that's left. Kupchack's can sell a S&T for Sasha's expiring which could prove attractive....Raja over Miller should be the thought process because DEFENSE wins les...Sure Miller can shoot the 3 but that's pretty much it....Raja's more athletic, is a decent 3 pt shooter , can drive, plays great Defense, has big game experience, and will stand up to rough and tough play...like the infamous Kobe clothesline + his legs are pretty fresh after basically sitting a whole year. Blake + Bell and our bench is sick...
Unless the S&T involved Raja Bell, trading Sasha even for an expiring doesn't give the Lakers that expiring money to spend on another free agent. They're still over the cap.
eh...fisher>blake this is a nonissue. both will spot up and shoot 3's and nothing more in LA's offense but at least fisher is the more physical defender
fisher needs to take a paycut....PJ, Blake, Artest, Lamar did...so should he.
However, I'm worried about the Lakers' lack of athleticism
Fair asessment but he he an underrated passer ... Roy dominated the ball A LOT i think Blake is a good pickup ...but no PG savior ...
I agree wholeheartedly ...withhout BOTH Farmar and Brown a slow team becomes one of the slowest in the whole NBA ...
I would love Morrow and Brown but as far as needs go ...speed is more of a prority than shooting with the blake signing.
I think farmar has talent ...but a horrible fit for the triangle ...if i were him i would be BEGGING the knicks to give him a shot.
An uptempo offense would be ideal ...
Speed is not an essential. The game slows down the further it goes along in the season. By the time May & June roll around the pace is to a crawl. The separation between success and failure is inches, and defense can make those inches up easily, that's why the Celtics couldn't get out and run. We just worked harder on the boards and getting back by the aforementioned "inches"....viola.
First rule: do no harm. Does Farmar obey this rule? No. He abuses it. So does Walton, but, we're stuck with his honkey-lips ass.
Does Brown obey this rule? Better than the above two, but, he's still dicey.
Blake {looks} like somebody who will obey this rule.
I agree with the post-season crawl point ..no doubt cully.
But one of the strengths of our roster is that we had those guys (farmar and Brown) although wildly inconsistent ...were able to change tempo and match quick guys ...
Dont get me wrong both sucked ass defensively and no team is perfect ...
But I think we would be wise to address speed in the backcourt ...if ebanks is any good he and Lamar give us speed in the front-court already ...
Just my 2 cents ...
I think blake for us is >>Farmar ...
If i am Farmar i seek out an uptempo team ...not sure if you thought i said we need to be uptemp i was speaking of Farmar ...we are a halfcourt team that CAN play uptempo ...
Laker fans are you ready for this?

Last season Brown was more out of control than Farmar. And thats saying something. Trying to 1on1 like Kobe, instead of playing inside the O like he did in 09. Philly gave him an inch of rope and he took a mile. And now he might have hung himself with it.
Blake is the best PG the teams had since threepeat Fisher and regular season 04 Payton. He'll do fine. But i'm less worried about preserving Fish's legs than Kobe's. Fisher doesn't need any rest to camp on the perimeter and blow 2 on 1 fastbreaks.
Good stuff, Picc.
Kobe won't sit anyway. He's sitting this off season and that will eat at him something fearsome as the months tick by till October. And he shouldn't sit come November. He needs to push himself, thereby pushing the team. That's what he did last season and the payoff came late against Phoenix and Boston when his latent imperfections led to the challenge that Artest met most admirably.
Let's see if Blake will sponge up Kobe's leadership like Artest did, then turn it around when we're at risk and finish it, like Artest did.
Who will Blake thank if the Lakers win it all next year? His life coach? Maybe his banker...or maybe even the guy that bags his veggie chips @ Trader Joe's...
