I think, in terms of everything except XBL (which you pay for), PS3 > 360. Most of my friends' 360's turn off and overheat (or are at risk to any moment) after 4-5 hours of gameplay, for example; I sometimes watch movies and play games on PS3 for literally 12-14 hours at a time (it's left on).

The resolution is noticeably better, and it plays Blu-Rays.

The online, while semi- ty and lacking in "buyables", is also free.

The biggest issue I have is actually the controller. On FPS, the xbox layout is much better. That said, we all know console fps is several levels below PC gaming anyway.

Let's not forget the considerably better price tag since even the cheapest models come standard with blu-ray/120 gig HDD.

    Overall, PS3 truly is > the 360.

Neat. Although I'll probably never utilize this feature as I don't ever plan to buy a 3D HDTV unless it becomes a standard in the industry (i.e: no premium costs). And really, I'd only use it for games or for some movies.

Oh, no doubt. I have absolutely NO need for a 3D upgrade as I just recently switched out all my DVDs for BluRays and I'll be GODDAMNED if I'm doing it again for atleast another decade.

Just thought it was cool for those that might be able to take advantage.

    Blu-Ray. 3d.

Blu-ray is a crappier format than HD-DVD that happened to win out because it had a cooler name. Sony's lucky for the time being that they have a semi-monopoly over the , but really, who cares. It's already dated, ty and has always been overpriced technology. The concepts of overpriced hardware and overpriced physical discs are going or have already gone by the wayside. The future is in streaming. Physical media is dying.

I'm not interested in 3d in general. I'm not wearing goggles, ever, when sitting around watching TV or playing games. And who cares if PS3 supports it, before the time that insufferable becomes mainstream, 360 will support it too.

Yeah, I do not have one iota of interest whatsoever in 3d tech for personal entertainment setup.

I have both which makes it tough to decide which console I want to buy games on. Recently I've been buying on PS3 because that's where a lot of my friends play. For NCAA and Madden 11 I may have to go with the 360 though.

I like that PS3 has a built in BluRay, but it's a pretty subpar BD player in terms of picture and sound quality. So I have a stand alone BluRay also.

Yep. alright. Well, just so you know, your hilarious levels of gy butthurtedness don't go unnoticed...

Judging by the way you get bukkaked in every other argument, you should probably slow down with the whole "My opinion is right" stance. After all, it's not every day someone gets rolled on by Ballijuana.
    zosa got splooooooooadddateed!!!!!!!!
And for the record. I don't 'roll on' anybody but you and crookshanks. And the two quoted above ing loathe me, absolutely hate me, therfore they're objective as it gets. So anyway, reflect on those two facts and reflect on the fact people notice how much you cry like a made little girl. Cry some more, cry yourself to sleep. Keep crying. Sweet dreams, little .

Since when is the Xbox 360 free of physical media? You're saying " the Ps3" because it uses physical media, while touting the 360 as a superior system?

An odd bit of logic, to say the least.

I didn't tout or say ' ' anything. I said 'who cares'? I barely mentioned 360, in relation to 3D.

If you like blu-ray, fine, enjoy. I prefer streaming 1080p over Netflix, in the coming years I anticipate streaming anything and everything. Enjoy driving down to Best Buy to drop $35 bucks on discs.

Outta curiosity, where do you stream 1080p from? I use the Netflix PS3 streaming and it works well enough. Kinda wondered what I might be missing out on...

For the record, I've bought prolly 75% of my BluRays from Movie Trading Co for half the price after trading in numerous DVDs.

    Yes, he is.

Blue ray has a higher data rate and 25 gigabytes per layer vs. 15 gigabytes per layer for HD-DVD.

That's why it's better. There is no denying the measurable facts. the standard hoes up to four layers, or 100 gigabytes. I may be wrong, but I think the limit for HD-DVD is 3 layers, or 45 gigabytes.

Netflix on the 360 streams a lot of movies in HD. Netflix has a tab on the website where you can look up movies that are in HD and using an HDMI cable with the 360 gets you 1080p. If your computer and monitor is capable, you can watch HD movies on your computer as well.

When you watch a movie in HD just check your setting using the display. Mine always says 1080p.
