Barack Obama prefers private education for his daughters but won't give DC parents the same opportunity.

Other parents in DC send their kids to private school. They just do not do it with tax payer dollars.

Every kid goes to school with tax payer dollars. The private school is just cheaper and more beneficial.

has obama shut down admissions offices? If DC parents can afford priate educations, can't they still go to private school?

    the Anointed One

The Illinois Senator told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: "If there was any argument for vouchers, it was 'Alright, let's see if this experiment works,' and if it does, then whatever my preconceptions, my at ude is you do what works for the kids," the senator said.

"I will not allow my predispositions to stand in the way of making sure that our kids can learn. We're losing several generations of kids and something has to be done."

If Health Insurance isn't provided for everyone, then why should private education be provided for everyone? Perhaps if enough people die, we may have enough slots for everyone in the private school system...it's all starting to make sense! Population control by limiting resources FTW. Thanks, Chosen One!

    Negative. Not all of them.

GW Bush graduated with a Yale B.A. and a Harvard M.B.A. He's not an elitist, he'd a good ol' boy that lives on a ranch and does ranchy thingies like REAL Americans do.

    Elitist?

I raise you two terrorist fist bumps, and the Clinton WH Christmas card list.

I'm reading where car thief Issa will shutdown the Exec with 1000s of bogus subpoenas if Repugs win House majority.

The last things the Repugs and right-wingers want Dems or Repugs to do is actually govern.

elitist? The whole ing DC establishment is elitist, millionaires damn near every one of them. That's the primary reason they all want office, the salary, the corruption, the lobbyist jobs, the perks, the lifetime 5-star health care, the 5-star pension. It's called a plutocracy.

Two of those posts were mildly informative (see the links), yours so far are all argumentative.

I do agree that being the leader of the world, elected by american electorates, is an elite le and accomplishment. But you know what I am refering to and to the definition I am using.
Your rhetorical gambit is lame. US Presidents are elitists par excellence.

that article was already posted. I still don't think it is a game changer.
Of course you don't think it a "game changer"
You had already made up your mind even before the clarification. You and a few others (on both sides of political spetrum) here ignore the facts, they just spew rhetoric.

I don't really like Obama but I do recognize the non-issue this particular time.

Don't know how much time you've spent in DC, but I'm gonna make an easy bet and say it's easier to secure the daughters of the most powerful man in the country at a private school. I'll also go out on a limb and say no president in the 20th Century and thereafter, with school-age children at their time of service, has sent his children to a public school.

    Certain things just aren't done.

Amy Carter attended Washington, DC, public schools,[1] including Stevens Elementary School and Hardy Middle School as well as Tri-County High School in Buena Vista, GA

Firstly, I don't understand how traveling in a plane and having a dog make one an elitist.

Secondly, regarding his children's education, I can't say I would not do the same if I had the means. However, I hope our President feels an obligation to raise the standard of teaching and the safety of the environment in all public schools for all of the children that are not able to attend private ins utions.

I'm not sure what his plans are for that.

"President feels an obligation to raise the standard of teaching and the safety of the environment in all public schools"

    He's President, not King.

Policing public schools is the "right" of the local police, not even state police, and certainly not the Federal police. "states' rights", and all that racist bubba hokum.

Elitism is just another right-wing bogus issue of distraction.

All the politicians have to be rich and get richer after elected, aka, the plutocratic elite.

Multi-millionaire celebrity pitbull /mama grizzly/fake-politician is a private-jet-flying elitist so loved by her Real America.

Nothing to see here. Just a Sean Hannity fan spewing the same rhetoric he saw on Fox News.

"Anointed One" is a term spewed on the Hannity show nightly.
