We're only a couple of weeks away from WC so I thought it was pretty relevant. I can't start new threads so I just grabbed this one to post my question. I guess my point was that it seems ridiculous and somewhat arrogant to just grab a bunch of players, throw them on the court, and assume they will win.

You may want to ask yourself why you're not able to start threads anymore.

Nobody minds you posting. People just mind when others start duplicate threads or threads for every little thought that comes into their head, or when others drag up threads from a time that is completely irrelevant.

Well, I'm really not sure why I was banned from starting new posts. I only started 11. I think 2/3 were relevant. I've seen threads way more offensive and off topic than anything I posted without any reprimand at all.

But in the future, I will try to edit my thoughts before posting.

I was looking at this post and thinking about the current team we are about to put at the WC. Obviously we have the best athletes in the world and could certainly win any 1 on 1 compe ion.

But, would we have better success just putting out one of the NBA teams? Would the Lakers, Celtics, or Spurs have a better chance of winning than a collection of US allstars?

You weren't thinking about anything but bumping yet another six year old thread. You are probably riding the borderline of a ban, so I'd quit while you are ahead.

Indeed, thread got locked up pretty fast iirc. Not that I am not interested in a discussion about the WC roster, but bumping a rotten thread is not the way to do it.
